Don’t do it. What you’re basically doing is trying to use someone else’s bank account that the account number matches your SSN with a known bank routing number. The times it “works” is because you guessed the correct account numbers that work with your social security number and the owner of the account hasn’t caught it yet. In order to transfer money all you need is an account number and routing number. Just look at your check book. This is fraud and theft. Don’t do it.

Also, the whole “Treasury Direct” thing is not a bank account. It’s a place where you can buy US Bonds.
