My Car. I can hit them and leave them laying along the side of the road where they cannot bother traffic.

I use my Beretta 92FS only to shoo away the crows and possums afterwards.

My general attitude of NFG and a general avoidance of society in general out of work hours. If push came to shove, I would beat the living s~~~ out of any potential attacker in the style of primitive monkeys which we basically are.

The human body is soft and weak if you know the correct pressure points to focus on. In order to do this I would have to feign weakness, to get my attacker close. Then I neutralise the threat and walk away. No cops are ever around and CCTV is grainy and unreliable. You are not safe on the streets so think carefully about where you go and when you go there.

Also bear in mind that appearances are deceptive. Think that skinhead or leather jacket wearing punk is scary? Think again. That’s a kid following fashion. The most dangerous guys are those who look unassuming in public but can be cold, hard and relentless if their interests are threatend.

You really don’t know what kind of animal you are dealing with until the SHTF and by that time it’s too late.

    Just sayin’

No offense, but if anyone has the illusion that they can defend themselves from today’s violent attacks with “hand to hand”, you may want to check your local news.

Sure, if you live in Canada or Western Europe, perhaps your average thug isn’t packing. Here in the USA, if your chosen as a victim there will most DEFINITELY be weapons involved. Don’t bring jiu jitsu to a Gunfight.

Even if your billy badass, expect at least 3 to 1 ratio of attackers. I’m not 14 years old anymore, I don’t do fist fights. If someone calls me names, makes fun of my shoes or whatever other bulls~~~ people get into fisticuffs about, I don’t care. I won’t say a word, take the verbal assault and keep walking. If someone actualy attacks me, and I’m fearing for my life, a handgun is the bare minimum I’m comfortable with.

As you noted, we are disarmed. Therefore we have to be creative. Few people go out looking for violence. When violence occurs, it is rarely one on one, People hunt in packs. Street smarts can usually spot dangerous groups and avoid them.

In an armed society I would carry a S&W 38. In an unarmed society I would carry a knife, or rely on primal murderous rage to come out on top.

And my rage has more than six shots.

    One handed opening knife.

I’m a believer in blades, Monk, I carry box cutter knives in my door saddle bags (car and truck) right there ready to use!

Inside a car is a hard place to defend yourself unless you can shred whats thrown at you, even your feet are restricted like a sardine in a can and the door can be used against you in too many ways, it’s why I carry the carpet cutters, they’ll slice through a leather s~~~ kicker boot and thick denim, I also carry sledge hammer handles under the seat. Anywhere else I feel “safe” not being “trapped” with no place to run!

Boxed in traffic with some road rage lunatic is no place or scene for me! I never retaliate in traffic or show any signs of anger. Avoid accidents simply by backing off and going with the flow and not push and shove like they do in the city.

    3 killers.

    1. Aggressive driving.

    2. Speeding.

    3. Intoxication.

Avoid these pitfalls and you’ll not only live longer and uninjured but also richer from avoiding all the costs associated with a bad driving record!

I drive for CHEAP! Some people pay THOUSANDS for INSURANCE while I only pay hundreds!

I truly feel for you guys in unarmed countries. Yeah a blade is definitely your friend in that situation. I would LOVE to learn Kali, the Phillipino edged weapons martial art, but its very hard to find instructors. Mostly because its not a sport, its about getting an instant kill/incapacitation as quickly as possible. Ruthless.

The Lie is that you don’t need to be armed as we have a professional police force to protect you. The truth is that the police’s task was changed from the “Prevention of Crime” to “The Detection of Crime” What this equates to is that a policeman will not be patroling the streets to prevent you getting stabbed, however, with the proliferance of CCTV cameras the police will be able to view the crime after it’s occurred, identify your attacker, and fine/Imprison him/Her afterwards.

How does this make me feel more safe? The knowledge that if I am killed at least my killer will face justice? How does that help me? I’m injured or dead. Times are a’ Changin’ People are toolin’ up. It’s the only way to be safe. And as other posters have mentioned, Never brandish a weapon. If you pull it out, use it. Failure to do this negates the advantage of supprise and may lead to your attacker using your weapon against you.

Ignore what society teaches you is the correct way to conduct yourself in dangerous situations. It’s BS. Follow their advice and you will be a statistic.

No one White Knights for other guys,

    One thing to remember.

If you have to use deadly force to avoid being killed yourself. The psychological effects are devestating unless you are a Psycho. You will be physically sickened. Nearly all normal people throw up directly after a kill. It will change you. It will haunt you. You will never be the same again. Don’t do it unless you really, really have to.

    It changes everything.

I often carry a knife, which is legal in my country of residence, even a huge one worn openly, as in this picture, where I wear it because I go on a long walk through various large parks around midnight in a city, with temps much below freezing:

Me dressed for a long midnight winter walk

I do not normally wear that pack and waistbelt on walks that take less than a day, but I sometimes put a lot of weight in that pack for training purposes. The country I live in has I don’t know – over a million Gypsies. I’ve been in a bit of trouble with criminals a few times so it’s best to be armed, when walking alone at night through town. Lots of homeless here too, and some have been known to beat you over the head from behind, at night in dark alleys.

The Czech Republic has more liberal gun laws than Texas. Here, even when you’ve served time for double murder, concealed carry licenses are “shall-issue” and you’re permitted to carry concealed absolutely everywhere, including churches, kindergardens and the like. When there is a sign that carrying is not allowed such as in courthouses or at the Police or in a supermarket, violating such is merely punished with a fine.

BTW, gun-related crime is virtually unheard of in this country. Gypsies have no money for firearms and white people don’t shoot eachother here. That’s not racist, that’s a proven statistical fact here.

    Spring assisted folding clip knife.
Glock 27 on my ankle in a neoprene Galco holster when wearing long pants.
Glock 19 or North American Arms magnum 22 in my pocket when in shorts.

I avoid confrontation like the plague at my age. If I somehow find myself in a situation I always revert back to what I learned many years ago. Speed, surprise, and violence of action. When you do these three things in a fist or gun fight you will win. There is always someone meaner and tougher than you, but you must always believe you will win the fight.

It's never to late to be what you might have been...
