Ethics Charges Filed Against Maxine Waters for Inciting Violence

Maxine Waters has said time and time again that Congress can remove President Trump even if he commits no crime. But, what happens if a member of Congress does commit a crime? In the case of Maxine Waters, the crime is inciting violence against conservatives. First, let me say, I have no confidence in the House Ethics Committee, especially after Charles Rangel got no real punishment for breaking a laundry list of laws. Therefore, I doubt that anything will come of this, but I support the filing nonetheless. If nothing else, it exposes Maxine Waters as the hate merchant that she is.

Her call for mobs of leftists to harass and protest members of a Republican administration in public have been taken by many as an incitement toward violence, given the heated rhetoric and intense nature of the current political divide, and now Waters has been referred to the House Office on Congressional Ethics for an investigation of her behavior and statements.

The non-partisan government watchdog group Judicial Watch reported in June that they had sent an official letter to the congressional ethics office with regard to Waters’ inflammatory commentary, as her remarks quite possibly were in violation of a specific House rule governing the behavior of representatives.

The letter was addressed to Office of Congressional Ethics Chairman Doc Hastings and Co-chair David Skaggs — along with a copy sent to House Committee on Ethics Chairwoman Susan Brooks and minority Ranking Member Ted Deutch — and requested the office investigate whether Waters violated House rules with her incitement to violence and mob action.

The upscale Italian restaurant Fiola is just the latest venue of Waters’ incited violence. Sen Ted Cruz was chased from the restaurant by members of Democrat-supported Antifa. The restaurant has been forced to hire security after the owner and his wife and family are receiving death threats from leftist domestic terrorists.

She also has ethics charges against her dating back to 2008. Seems that during the financial crisis she, through Congress, helped a bank in California that her husband has ties to. I guess she forgot to mention it to anyone else in Congress. I would think that charge would have a much better time sticking to her. We’ll see.

Hopefully one of the two charges will stick. I really don’t care which one.

I’m starting to believe that part of the reason that part of the marketing campaign of calling themselves ‘the resistance’ is to justify the breaking of ethics rules, laws, and such. These are desperate times, and those sort of things don’t apply to rebels.

As an aside, the left really has no business calling themselves ‘the resistance’. They have absolute control of the media, a ton of power in the government, and as they like to remind everyone often, a very large percentage of the population. Hardly an under dog. Like I said above, the term is used to justify hypocritical actions and make people feel good about it all.
