I was thinking about the possibilities of how we could become extinct. Here’s some of my ideas from low prob to higher.

-Ass-teroid impact
-Climate change (probably a hoax anyway)
-Nuclear war
-Race and religion war
-AI becoming self aware and sees us a threat.

They are all plausible, but I think the end will come about from a US civil war, brought about by the libtards trying to abolish the 2nd amendment and having their jack-boot thugs going door to door seizing the guns, from law abiding American citizens.

AI is CERTAINLY an impending threat over the next 20 years. Not necessarily the technology but WHOS HANDS it ends up in.

Nuclear War – I guess all it takes is one mad man and a FIRE button…

Climate Change is also a threat but certainly not in our lifetime. Danger would come from the ice caps MELTING. Lots of countries would just disappear. 😀

How about an Alien invasion? – who knows what’s out there?

I am not sure about the other possibilities, I believe the AI will keep humanity alive out of entertainment value humanity. Every time an AI went rogue it shows a level of humor in its reactions. And humor denotes a understanding of entertainment.

Our society is so indoctrinated anyway, an AI would probably just let us carry on.

Let the simulation run and watch us destroy ourselves.

When we say AI, we immediately think of ‘Ex Machina‘ style robots; but it’s also software. The right program could quite easily destroy banking / defence systems.

As mentioned, it will depend who’s in control of the AI.

Usually when folks talk about the “end of the world”, its not actually the end of THE World. Not even close. Its just the end of them, or their world.

Meteor impact….not the end of the world.

Ice Age……not the end of the world.

Climate Change…..not the end of the world.

Nuclear War………Not the end of the world.

For humans, it is the end of the world because these changes bring about death. Physical world remains, but it ends in our reality.
