Employ women?

Gentlemen,

I am running a small company with six employees, all men and I am thinking about to employ somebody to do the paperwork. I kept women out for good reasons I don’t think I have to explain here.
Now I am thinking to employ a woman for one simple reason: Giving my guys a little eye candy. This maybe lightens up the mood and spirit. On the other hand I am afraid to ruin the generally very relaxed atmosphere in the company.

What do you think?

Nope. Not a hottie anyway. What will happen is she will saunter in, wearing her mini skirt and white blouse, high heels, looking like secretary porn and she will change the dynamic, all of a sudden the guys will be perving on her, some of the more daring ones will hit on her. She will use this attention to get out of work, she will start dividing your team and the next thing you know she will want a pay rise and one or more of your guys will be backing her (in both ways).

If you need a secretary type then hire an old woman, 50 plus, the type that just wants some hours here and there, she will actually work, still soften the atmosphere a bit but not destroy the place.

If you think they need eye candy then treat them to a night at a brothel or strip club. Or hire a stripper to come into the office, but just remember if your guys are so inclined they might consider that harassment or some s~~~ and sue you.

Moral of story, don’t mix business and pleasure.

The idea with the stripper is brilliant!

I have not though about she would use this job to go in the old fashion way to hook up and stop working. This is not tolerable for two reasons: First I need somebody I can count on and not someone I always have to fear she will leave next month. Second, of course, is the whole idea of supporting this is so repulsive, I cannot even imagine doing it.

No eye candy: she will be the first step on the path to doom. If you hire a woman, then get someone who is post-menopausal and has years experience as a secretary or clerk-typist. Perhaps someone who wants a job now that the kids have left the nest.

Historical fact: Before World War Two, women secretaries were relatively rare (women clerk-typists were another matter). Secretary was an entry level position for a man who wanted to get on the executive career track. A general shortage of men due to the war allowed women to infiltrate their ranks.

Not only do I think this is a terrible idea because it’s sexist, disruptive to your work environment and will guarantee you one or more legitimate sexual harassment lawsuits, but I also think it’s a troll.

Your job as a business owner, if you truly are one, is to hire qualified individuals to do meaningful work and to do so within the rule of law, without regard to gender and in such a way as to improve productivity and increase profits. Hiring “a little eye candy” will do none of the above. Furthermore, no serious business owner in their right mind would EVER admit to doing such a thing in a public forum.

The idea that someone would make it their polity to provide sexual stimulation to their employees during work hours and invite an inevitable firestorm of social and legal danger into their business is ludicrous and I call bulls~~~ on this thread, as well as advise the other members of this site not to blindly jump at every piece of woman-bashing chum that is tossed into our water.

I should hope that we are not really so easily frenzied.

Why on Gods green earth would you bring some eye candy into a small business that you obviously want to succeed?? Nothing good can come from this. I think you just want a hot lady around because you are the owner and you know she would be kissing your ass regularly, eventually having sex with you ( I understand that need, but….). Somebody who owns a business with 6 employees is really asking this question? Sounds like a trap/troll to me. Hire whoever is most qualified for the position and cost effective. Of course you should hire a woman. You’re aware that a woman will do the work for only 77% of a man’s wage right? Weren’t you at the last patriarchy meeting when we all decided as men to conspire together to only pay women 77 cents on the dollar? I’ll go a step further. Since women are equal workers to men, but you only have to pay them 77 cents on the dollar, you should fire all of your men and replace them with women. Let’s say your average pay for those 6 guys is $50k per year, or $300k. You could save $69,000 by replacing all of your men with women.

Why doesn’t every company just do that? I would think that would be a smart business decision, everything else being equal.

Of course. And since women are equal to men in envy conceivable way, only better, you’d be getting even more for your money… better communication, more nurturing, more peaceful, better multi-tasking, greater lower body strength, better brain integration… even higher tolerance to pain… all strengths that women claim to have over men.

In fact, you should fire yourself and just give the entire business over to women… they would undoubtedly do a far better job of running it than you or any man could. That’s what I’ve heard, at least… and what I hear a woman say, I believe.
