Now that star wars has been totally trashed, good number of my geek friends have jumped on the Dune bandwagon. Audio books on the youtube broken down into 54min parts.

This guy kind of nails how most are looking at it.

What takes me out of the fan area is I can’t get past the beasts in the sand. Many massive monsters living in a desert with no food source.

They trashed them all. Star Wars, Superman, Spiderman, Batman, GhostBusters, Star Trek…. They even trashed Bugs Bunny and Kermit the Frog. Every one of them… trashed.

Patrick Stewart was in the original Dune. Still though, that movie was weird.

I never really got into dune. But I guess I’m not really a hard core starwars fan either.

You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home

While Dune certainly has its flaws, Herbert created and amazing world on paper. A universe both advanced and backwards at the same time. The movie is a bit weird, but loved the books I read in the series.

Without change, something sleeps inside us…

    They trashed them all.

Dont forget the Alien franchise, now owned by Disney. We likely will never know if Walter ever caught up to David and saved the guy with cowboy hate. Total cliffhanger… its criminal I tell you! Those films are my obsession.

I cant wait to see what Villenueve does. Been waiting a Year and we still have a year to go gents. It will be worth it, based on what he did with BR 2049 and Sicario.

The DUNE material is really fvcking weird though. Its bal1zy to try and remake something that was crazy as a book, and insane as a movie made by Lynch. Only Villenuve could make this good enough to pay for. I will be at the theatre.

    Arrival is awesome.

Made my Top 5 Of All Times. That’s how good it is to me.

Arrival is badass. I spoke about it before but I just want to say, Id love to see an abstract sequel to that movie, set 500 years in the future, out in deep space, when humans help them. Can you imagine the potential? There is so much potential for stories and sci fi…. yet Hollywood puts out junk.

I feel like there was a Rennassaunce for FILM lasting about 30 years … ended in the 90s and tapered off. Now, were lucky to get truly original, imaginative, cerebral classics. Like Interstellar. But you look at what it took to make the original Bladerunner, makes Interstellar look like a school project. They used to really make movies. Now very few meet the definition if you ask me.

    Cerebral classics: nicely put.

So, next on my list should be: Interstellar, Ad Astra… any other, my good man ?
