"Toxic masculinity" seminars at Duke University

Title: Duke Offers Men a ‘Safe Space’ to Contemplate Their ‘Toxic Masculinity’

Duke University is famous for its science and engineering programs, as well as its dominance in college basketball.

Now, it may also become known as a great place for men to gather and contemplate why they’re such horrible people.

The Duke Men’s Project, launched this month and hosted by the campus Women’s Center, offers a nine-week program for “male-identified” students that discusses male privilege, patriarchy, “the language of dominance,” rape culture, pornography, machismo and other topics.

The student newspaper’s editorial board endorsed the new program yesterday, insisting it was “not a reeducation camp being administered by an oppressed group in the service of the feminization of American society.”

But it’s easy to see why they felt the need to defend against such concerns.

Junior Dipro Bhowmik, who sits on the leadership team, recently said the goal of the Duke Men’s Project is for male students to “critique and analyze their own masculinity and toxic masculinities to create healthier ones.”

Alex Bressler, another junior on the leadership team, said the program would help men “proactively deconstruct our masculinity.”

Duke’s new program is patterned off of a similar one at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where participants are asked to contemplate how masculinity plays a harmful influence in lives.

There the program seeks “to shift the culture of masculinity toward more non-violent norms”—the underlying assumption being that violence is currently the norm for men.

It’s hard to imagine any other group on campus participating in a similar program—much less doing so under the banner of a “safe space.”

It is interesting how feminism seeks to make men like women.

At the website for the previous article, there’s also a link to another article entitled: “Brown University Offering Free Tampons in Men’s Bathrooms”

The article notes that “The school explained the decision by saying they did not want to make transgender students feel excluded.”

The article also says:

Brown has long been on the cutting edge of safe space technology, offering such a space last year outfitted with cookies, coloring books, trauma counselors, and a video of frolicking puppies after students complained that a speaker invited to campus would be too upsetting.

If duke university were a credible institution of higher learning IN SCIENCE they wouldn’t even use the terms of f~~~~~ry like “safe space”. The University of Chicago says f~~~ you to safe spaces and the SJWs would be triggered by that can lick their hairy nutsacks.

I can’t imagine one single man attending such seminar and not indirectly hoping it will help him with the ladies.

When in reality a healthy dose of masculinity is all he needs.

Feminine imperative is afraid of masculinity – it can’t infect its venom in men’s psyche so long they continue to take pride in being men.

Toxic masculinity? I have never been a super masculine guy, but this is ridiculous. What the hell is male privilege? We’re mistreated in the courts? We get to die in a war? We get to pay for kids that may or may not be ours?
Do you know what a safe space was in WWII? A bunker. The better part of this generation is lost.
One has to wonder what healthy masculinity is? I’m guessing its a mangina. What a world. Up is down and black is white.

If I ever went to a college again, I’d be paying for everything in cash by each semester. Just so I won’t end up having to kiss ass to the teachers only to get a good grade or end up keeping my mouth shut when they spew bulls~~~ like this.

Western colleges are more infected with toxic gynocentricism than ever. If colleges are going to pull bulls~~~ like this, I’d rather go to a college in a non-western or Latin college than to put up with bulls~~~ like this.
