The first drone warship just joined the Navy
The Pentagon’s request from DARPA was colossal: Develop a drone warship capable of hunting submarines, detecting torpedoes, and avoiding objects at sea while traveling at a top speed of 27 knots, or 31 miles per hour.
Six years later, the crewless, 140-ton, 132-foot-long robotic ship, was christened as Sea Hunter on the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon.
“The project is classic DARPA, not only game-changing but paradigm-bending,” Paul Scharre writes in “Army of None: Autonomous Weapons and the Future of War.”
——-Military giving it up to the machines. Army of none: Autonomous weapons and the future of war,…damn these guys.
mgtow is its own worst enemy- https://www.campusreform.org/
We’re all so proud of our powerful and elegant new killing machines! We’re setting up the stage for WW3 with such stupidity that’s it’s almost humorous!
You must own a better Crystal ball than IAnd I thought my Yuneec H480 was cool.
I’m planning on making a company to do this. Nothing like the smell of power in the morning.
I will call it , the ACME DRONE company.

……and then Skynet became aware
……and then Skynet became aware
Actually, lots of drones are already aware.
Mine’s aware of its location, my location, the surroundings, people, altitude… It’s actually scary the amount of situational awareness a modern, high end consumer drone has.quite true, but Skynet is about CCC of the individuals
I did a thread about advanced civilizations and how old man was. That was a great read. I get tired about talking everyday about women or even hearing about them. Unless they are dolls or AI bots, I’m getting sick of it.
But AI, and the Skynet? That is a completely 360 from what we have now.
See right now in order to launch a Nuclear missile, there are TONS of controls to make sure that they don’t. What is going to be a problem is small casuites caused by bots and drones.
As These are going to be some very advanced flying or ground crawling weapons, there is some serious concerns there.
Not the AI part is the part of skynet that may be the part that is going to need some real software and hardware separation. Almost like a manually operated remote switch.
So basically, the master turn off will have to be able to be activated even though the AI finds a way to control itself, and modify its own software. Even hardware!
This is where it gets VERY interesting. What happens o these machines if given the coding to survive and fuzzy logic to maybe build or repair itself. Maybe even make versions of itself without an off button.
That would be the deal killer. That is why it is important to make AI at least in the open source or Commercial level that will value or seek to preserve the 3 laws Isaac Asimov came up with, and maybe add a few more. But they need to be basic.
The problem arises when the programing of one machine tries to inflict harm on its own thinking it is okay to end human life. This is why robots are such a threat.
See Robots don’t have a self preservation instinct. The goal of the program is always the goal.
Makes you wonder if the sorry motherf~~~ers behind us got to taste their own violent delights. Its hard to imagine such an advance intelligence being wiped from the earth. But a program that see’s no threats, and no problems is going to go into some kind of power save mode. Then eventually either break down, or run out of parts, or power.
If there was such a skynet, then over the course of a 1000 years, the robots may just be programed to self destruct without a trace to defend the security of the machines. Or just the end of the game.
It’s been known that over generations, knowledge is lost. But just like on the final scene of BSG, they sent the ships into the sun to dispose of their advance tech.
The real problem is that humans are just not ready to do without money. Or Power
That’s the problem. But you have to get to a much higher level of humanity then we have now. And in many regards, we are declining. The eventual point is escaping or plugging in matrix style, but maybe with more eloquent solutions. But overall, I don’t think we are going to develop much past what we are today. It seem horrible to say right now. But our drive to move forward, is a race to extinction I don’t think anyone is going to care about intelligence or even exploring if we actually make AI Dolls as replacement women. Even push towards replicant or clone tech.
The harsh bottom line is, after maybe 100 years, there will be no use for real women or men in mass. That is when people who just seek power will start wars again. After those end. Its always going to be one small group controlling the masses. Kind of like the MCP in tron.

Very interesting topic. Science Fiction has a few answers that may not be far away.
How about human – AI implants? The ability for a human to become interactive with an AI – letting the AI carry out the auto functions and the human giving orders all at the speed of thought. Current work on this is synthetic DNA that can be controlled by a human brain – or vice versa.
For a machine to repair itself a nanobot healing system is required that would fuse with synthetic tissue. Machines can replicate by DNA just like animals.
The list goes on….
