For those of us who grew up and played games in the mid-90’s there’s one game we all tried; Doom

The newest version of the game is released March 13 this year. One of the new features is Doom SnapMap (building and sharing your own maps). And multiplayer is returning, if you want to play with your friends. It’s released for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Time to get a PS4. I’ve been thinking about it for a while and I’ve got the time.

If you liked doom, to be honest, I’d recommend you look into Brutal Doom which is a remake of the original old game, watch the video and you will see what I mean.

    🙂

On another note, this Youtube-video shows how CoD has influenced gaming, in a bad way….

There are very few games that I could honestly recommend to be played and there aren’t any modern ones on the list.

A lot of old games have excellent gameplay but frustrating mechanics due to the technological limitations of the time, modern games have done away with the technological limitations to produce illustrative galleries devoid of difficulty or depth.

Tomorrow at Friday the 13’th, they’ll release DOOM (PC, PS4 and XBOX One):
    .
    .
    .

    .
    .
    Fight
    .
    Like
    .
    Hell
    .
    .
    .
    .

Whay is it like? Multiplayer on many levels, SnapMap for custom build maps to share, and a return to the roots that made gaming GAMING!

the review embargo made me cancel my pre-order as it seems they are hiding a crap game. Will wait until next week to see what people make of it before I buy

Reviews seem positive. Mostly a single player game with a fast paced combat. I played these games through the 90s myself, problem is now I don’t know that I have the reactions to play this style of game anymore. Classic Doom was run and gun fast paced combat, where you always had to be on the move and ready for anything. No hiding behind cover and slowly walking around like the modern games are. You ran from spot to spot and tried to get the heck out of where you were…as you are in hell in the games.

Unfortunately I doubt I can handle that type of game anymore. Perhaps I will look for gameplay videos on youtube or twitch, I hear those are popular now. If anybody has a good link I’d love to see it.

Ah yes, DOOM ….and when Shadow Warrior 2 comes out, my Demon hunting season will be open!

But, I will buy DOOM on a discount I think, years from now for the single player alone (as I did get AvP, Wolfenstein TNO), while Shadow Warrior 2 I will get on launch to enjoy and grind the Hell out of it like some Borderlands game.

Glad the GTX 1080 is about to be released. About time for a new PC build.

The Children of Doom... Doom's Children. They told my lord the way to the Mountain of Power. They told him to throw down his sword and return to the Earth... Ha! Time enough for the Earth in the grave.
