It’s not a new trend, but something I’ve noticed recently.
The left leaning supports tend to support their politicians 100%. They don’t put up with bad behavior and views, they either claim it’s being overblown, lies, or s~~~ their own view to match.
On the right side, we traditional expect perfection. If a politician can’t be right on everything, we cast him out. The result is that the right has a ton of do nothing politicians. Attempting to do something right is risking failure.
But now there is Trump, who has capitalized on the populations contempt of all these PC to do things without fear of f~~~ing it up. It’s a big shift.
The media hasn’t caught up yet, as they are still trying to bring down the right leaders my pointing out imperfections. They are shocked that women don’t care about pussy grabbing, that other things matter more. They are shocked that man comprehend the fact that just because a man agrees with a racist on an unrelated issue doesn’t mean he is racist himself.
I don’t think the media will ever catch up, because without the ability to bring down a man by highlighting his flaws…they become powerless. They cannot silence anyone, they cannot control speech. They can no longer be the de facto 4th branch of the government, as they like to think of themselves.
Personally, this all powered by the phrase “I don’t care”. Which isn’t even really a statement of lack of concern about an issue, as it an statement about what really does matter.
Ok. Then do it.
You could see the start of this years ago. I remember Senator Bob Packwood (he helped write the current tax code) being a accused of being too touchy with women after he had a few c~~~tails. So he went in front of the Senate Ethics Committee. Run by Teddy Kennedy. Yeah, the same Ted Kennedy that drunk one night, drove over a bridge and wrecked his car into the river below. He managed to save himself, but left his passenger to drown in the car.
Kennedy f~~~ing KILLED someone and here he sits judging a man who grabbed a girl’s butt. Packwood of course was removed from Senate and Kennedy served until the day he died.
As if it needs saying Packwood was a Republican and Kennedy a Democrat.
Politics aside, the Democrats are WAY more hypocritical than Republicans. And D’s go ape-s~~~ when R’s show the slightest hypocritical behavior. It does make me laugh right now that the R’s have finally decided that they don’t give a s~~~ what anyone thinks of them. The R’s are about 30 years behind the times in that regard.
