Just a sign of things to come in the west. The system in the US has been so abused that when people actually need help, there is nothing to support them. The welfare system was designed to help just a few people who actually needed it. Instead you get single mothers, refugees,or abusers of the system that refuse to work. I see people who can actually work but perhaps they can’t fully supinate their arm all the way easily get benefits, but then someone who can barely walk get denied.

And people wonder why the USA has over 20 trillion in debt.

Well, you get what you pay for. If you pay various degenerates, if initially just to stop them from doing trouble, you will soon see degenerates breed and multiply…

A thing that gets lectured within first 15 minutes of economics study, but many don’t fully get till old: “free market generally aims to provide everything backed up by money, and what’s not backed, it doesn’t”.

I don’t think you understand, the article is not talking about degenerate scroungers and in the UK we all pay into the system.

Well, I admit I made a little off-topic, but that is applicable to disableds and sick in the same way. And bottom line remains the same.

The ability to be employable isn’t based on what people think is what should be “reasonable”, but whether or not someone is in a condition that they would be desirable to be employed. When I was dealing with back issues, that prevented lifting, I couldn’t even land a retail job at all. Even mental health issues, if they make you too weird to deal with, won’t make you employable. As demands in the marketplace increase, more and more people will end up saying they are not able to work. You see a spike in claims for disabilities when there is an economic downturn, because employers are hiring less, and people in the margin aren’t able to be employed.

This can snowball even worse, as individuals try to shake their depression, which makes them unemployable (they are miserable be around) by doing drugs to be in a better mood, more acceptable, and just feel good. At this point, they become addicts and not employable. They now have a form of inability that makes them unemployable.

I have personally see this work in a lot of times. I also see how my father is, and issues to deal with. He has mental health issues he needs to deal with, and he is not employable in his current mental state, let alone physical issues he has.

The current economy, with its globalization, is prime both to make a lot rich, but leave a lot behind, who can’t compete globally.
