I’ve never believed in sleepwalking. I know they claim there sre some people and some families who sleepwalk .. especially a group living down in Argentina who villagers say .. sleepwalk regularly. I just have never been able to believe in it as a possibility .. and really, still don’t.

I am posting this because there is no place else where I know this thing bothering me will ever get a better .. more fair trial. I don’t believe I walked in sleep .. but I can’t explain it any other way.

If you met me and sat down and I bought you a beer and chatted for a while, you’d likely say I seem rational and quite sane .. what I mean is that I admit I don’t even like writing about this .. it’s just that something happened or else there was an intruder in my house.

Yet, last night something happened that I can’t explain ..
last night I was about as tired as I’ve ever been .. as I may have posted somewhere I spent the entire day on the house and garage roofs shoveling snow because of the extreme weight load we have on buildings this year. I was tired enough so I didn’t even climb down ladder for a break .. I stood leaning against chimney so I could finish before finally climbing down.

After a peanut butter and jelly sandwich .. because that’s all I could make due to fatigue .. I hit the hay and slept hard. I have a vivid dream about being locked out of my house .. and it went on for a long time. I usually don’t remember dreams .. this one, I did. I remember I struggled in this dream and slept for about ten hours.

This morning, Saturday is recycling day and I went out and loaded truck to go over to the center for drop-off .. I had only been using outdoor storm door while going in and out of kitchen. As I was preparing to leave .. I shut inner door and then realized I down’t have truck ignition keys so tried to go back in kitchen for keys .. the door was locked.

I haven;t ever locked that door for at least ten years and I didn’t do it this morning .. the house key is somewhere in garage on a nail and I haven;t touched it for years. I haven’t touched the inner locking knob on that door handle either .. I did not lock the handle from inside .. and it’s a very good quality German Made locking handle and knob. It didn’t lock itself because it takes real effort to lock and unlock .. it’s well made. The inner heavy door wasn’t entirely shut last night as I had left swung open .. which I often do since there is another insulated door outside. So this morning when I closed it I never noticed if it was locked or not. But, I did not lock that door .. like I say I haven’t touched lock in a decade. And I used that same door within past couple of days, Thursday, so I know it wasn’t locked within last 48 hrs.

… so how did that door lock? It had to be turned from inside and locked before I pulled it shut. It had to have been intentionally done. The only explanation I can possibly come up with is that in my tiredness .. last night, I did some form or fashion of sleepwalking and turned that handle. I didn’t do it before going to bed .. I never used that entrance yesterday .. at all. I only used sliding patio doors all day long. It was either me due to that dream .. or a burglar .. and we just don;t have burglars around here.

I didn’t do it this morning or before .. the only possible way would have been that I got up without remembering it .. and walked into kitchen .. locked door and went back to bed. Walked in some fashion as I slept. .

.. in other words, I sleepwalked. I still can’t believe it .. must have been some one else, a burglar. I didn’t lock it but I did dream hard about getting locked out of my house. That dream overnight did happen .. but I didn’t do it accidentally, earlier, because I never ever touch lock on that door.

I sleepwalked as a kid. I also experienced Sleep Paralysis as a kid too. They are just medically explainable sleep disturbances. It’s not at all big deal. What’s so hard to understand about it???

I had sleep paralysis as a young kid. Often thought vampires were in the room with me during these times. Not the greatest memories. Thank god it didnt make me wet the bed.

I could not resist using this meme…Peace…

Get a security cam for safety or thermal sensors. Better be safe. And if things happen, you can sell the intruder video, a prank video, or the money shot…

It’s a little strange how the non doctors give more advice on this then the docs we have on board. But let me explain something that will help you understand this.

Your brain as you know it is not just one part. It has the old part built under the new. That means that you may indeed do things that you may not be aware of. In fact, due to your brain functioning at a certain Frequency, (3-4 Hz on Average) and you being an electrical being; its pretty normal for you to experience these sort of things.

It’s a misnomer to say that things like electrical fields etc do not affect your body. Or even that you have 2 states of consciousness. Asleep and awake.
In fact, this has been observed. And you did say strenuous activity correct?

What are the causes of sleepwalking?
    Causes of sleepwalking include:

Hereditary (i.e., the condition may run in families)
    Lack of sleep or fatigue
Interrupted sleep or inefficient sleep (including from disorders like sleep apnea)
    Illness or fever
    Certain medications
    Stress, anxiety
Going to bed with full bladder
    Noisy sleep environment/different sleep environment

May I suggest that you try to turn off all sources of EMI in your home if possible. This includes your WiFi, cell phone, etc. You mentioned that your home that you are painting has a bluff at one side. Do you have a basement? You do live in Canada, and Radon is a thing. I would try to see if you have any of those issues in your home.

The next thing I would ask that you look into is things that you use on your body. SOap, Deodorant, etc. Don’t forget all the items that you come into contact with and your food. Back in the 80’s, there was a large proliferation of lead that caused a ton of issues in cookware etc.

There are a TON of things that can be a cause to this. But most often it can be lead intake or lead poisoning. This can drastically affect memory and cognition. This is also one of the reasons why SLeep apnea is such an issue. I would recommend that you at least try those snore strips that help you breath at night by opening your nasal passages.

One of the last things people do not think about is ear health. I know it does not make much sense, but wax build up in your ears seems to have some weird effects on your health that should be unrelated. So please get that checked out.

Lastly, you said that you were on your feet for a long time. Post a picture of your feet please. There are pressure points on your feet that could also cause sleep walking. How? Just a theory, but during REM sleep, your brain puts your body in a state of paralysis. If you are getting some kind of pain or pressure input from a pressure point or pinched nerve during sleep, this may cause you to have a misfire or crossed signals in your brain as it is getting tactile feedback of you moving even though you should not be while you are sleeping. I am really over simplifying this. But basically, when your body is sore, it will get input that you are moving even though you are not. So your brain is going to do things even though you are on in that state of consciousness if that makes some sense. Again, only my theory.

And I know this is going to sound stupid. But have you got laid ? Like it or not, it is therapeutic.

I would follow the recombination of setting up a cam or some IR sensors in the home and or CCTV. But a string and a Bell are a low tech option.

I think you live alone. I don’t know how much human contact you have, or if you are around children. But you would be Amazed at what good it can do for you. But with the dangers that men face, you can see why I don’t recommend this.

Also, this is none of my business, but when men start large activities like painting a home, or working on the house, they seem to be getting ready for a life change. Sickness. Death etc. From your post, it does seem like you are leaving out something about your health. But I’m no doctor. And the only one that we have here seems to have a penchant for wishing his patients a mortal ending. 🙂

However, it may just be you locked it and forgot you did it. happens to me ALL the time.

I slept walked as a kid too. More than once I got outside and could have been killed. The last time I know of was when I was in college I got out through a window onto a fire escape. Sometimes I still wake up with bad nightmares.

a damaged set of the pairs of Chromosome 20 maybe something both of you have in common. As with most conditions, there is usually some kind of genetic factor at play.

Those of you that are familiar with this may find comfort that this research was done in Canada, so thankfully, most of the info is publish and not behind some kind of pay wall.

Thanks to the American Academy of Neurology, there is a FULL study and paper on this bellow or click here:

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3030226/

This may only make sense to some of you, but its not some kind of fake BS study.

It also seems to trigger in Adult males more than adult females.

In fact, what you might not know is that you can do many of the things you do without using sight. I know it sounds weird, but this is why the visual cortex that would normally sense light and then signal your neurons to end REM sleep allow you to maintain asleep. This is one of the most famous instances of where an artist can draw with his eyes closed.

The reason why this happens to be sighted as being apart of Chromosome Group 20 is relative to what this section is responsible for.

There is one gene in there that’s called ADA, or adenosine deaminase,

and this gene has already been linked to differences in the

amount of time that people spend in slow-wave sleep. And slow-wave

sleep happens to be the time when you sleepwalk.

    -SOURCE:

    Audio Link.

The main thing to look out for is Stress.

    Sleepwalking, also known as somnambulism,
is a sleep disorder belonging to the parasomnia family. Sleepwalkers arise from the slow wave sleep stage in a state of low consciousness and perform activities that are usually performed during a state of full consciousness. These activities can be as benign as sitting up in bed, walking to the bathroom, and cleaning, or as hazardous as cooking, driving, extremely violent gestures, grabbing at hallucinated objects, or even homicide.

Although generally sleepwalking cases consist of simple, repeated behavior, there are occasionally reports of people performing complex behavior while asleep, although their legitimacy is often disputed.

In 2004, sleep medicine experts in Australia claimed to have successfully treated a woman who claimed to have sex with strangers in her sleep.

In December 2008, reports were published of a woman who sent semi-coherent emails while sleepwalking, including one inviting a friend around for dinner and drinks. Sleepwalkers often have little or no memory of the incident, as they are not truly conscious. Although their eyes are open, their expression is dim and glazed over. Sleepwalking may last as little as 30 seconds or as long as 30 minutes.

Now, I am no fan of Gravel Pits and others siting that we have no control over our own lives, but if you want to maybe explore why some people dream, or even have some of these weird states that people seem to be doing things without having known they are doing them, this site here (Women content) may help shed some entertainment on the subject or may provide some comfort or understanding since much of this involves the human consciousness.

I know this sounds like techno babble new age bulls~~~. But once you get past the “Fluffer” , it all pretty simple.

Your body is in tune with the environment around you. When you go out of tune just line in an instrument, you are not on the same “pitch” as everyone else. This is why String theory is related to human awareness. Just like in an instrument, if one of the strings are not in tune, it sends out a note or chord that does not sound right. So, maybe its just your body being out of tune or mind.

Many things can cause this, but overall, this is why everyone says this is stress triggered. Not Directly a product of stress per say.

Edward Witten talks about this in the Scientific American. And this is a credible dude on the subject.

So if he says String Theory, then it would be all together possible to say that Sleep walking may just be you being out of tune, or being out of “Sync” .

    Same thing with dreams.

If you have nightmares, one thing that does help is if you share them or at least vividly as best you can write them down or draw them. Or Paint them. There is something that is odd about dreaming compared to nightmares. It has to do with the level of involvement in your dream. I suggest your write it all down, or draw it. It may help you see something you need to take care off.

Sleep walking is real. I slept walked a few times about 30 years ago. My girlfriend at the time said I acted kind of like a zombie, but I was still able to talk… I said something very rude to her, but had no memory of ever getting out of bed.

Another incident, I found a bunch of 3 1/2″ floppy disk labels were all applied to floppy disks — upside down. They had been meticulously peeled off and reapplied without ripping them, but it had been done overnight.

In that same time period, I also had a couple REM-intrusions, which is where you are awake but not able to move. I was paralyzed, and could not move, and one by one, my senses all shut down — eyesight, touch, hearing. I thought I was dying. After an unknown amount of time, my hearing slowly came back, and eventually I was able to move again.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Everything else is negotiable. Women have rights; men have responsibilities; MGTOW have freedom. Marriage is for chumps. If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart-R'as al Ghul.

I’ve woken up in the mornings wondering what the hell happened the night before. One time, someone had p~~~ed in my laundry basket. Wasn’t from sleepwalking though. That was me drunkwalking and drunkp~~~ing. Glad I don’t get drunk anymore.

The evil in women’s hearts leaves them no moral bounds as to inhibit them from descending to the lowest levels of darkness to acquire their self entitled desires.
