I have a female boss. In my case I am lucky so far because she has her position because she is compotent.
We are both in STEM so have to be able to deliver.
My question is how to deal with a female boss? Being here has actually helped me understand females.
I never question her in front if others. If I disagree with her, I talk to her in private.
In private she is much more reasonable and willing to listen especially when I am right.
What do you do?

Anonymous54Sounds like your dealing with her just fine. If shes competent and ok to work for theres no problem.
yes Jan. avoid criticism , especially in front of others..
no off color jokes and be respectful to her as you would any boss.
just keep doing the right thing at work.
you should be fine.Yes, in the first job after graduation from the university I had a female boss, and frankly, she was the best supervisor I ever had. He was intelligent, competent, and did not play games and favoritism. She was older, single, and had at once been partially blind, so was able to understand people better than most other supervisors.
One the other hand, the second to last supervisor I had was a blatant feminist, and she was absolutely the very worst supervisor I ever had. Fortunately we had a guy with over 30 years in the Federal service and me with a degree in Psychology so we were able to negate most of her crap. The only times I ever used the Union in all my work years were with her. I never argued with her, but just brought the Union in right away. Arguing or resisting would or could lead to saying something that might be used against us later. With the Union present, the issue was always decided in our favor. Even then, she screwed my job up so badly that I retired the minute I was eligible, though she had left three years earlier.
As I said, I had a degree in Psych, and the book that explained her behavior the best was Willard and Marguerite Beecher’s Beyond Success and Failure: Ways to Self-Reliance and Maturity. I would use that book to explain to my coworkers exactly what her motives and tactics were and why we should not agree to them. Fortunately, I had some good and mature coworkers, two of whom were younger women. Those women did not side with her.
Like so many of the life histories on these forums about women, that woman supervisor engaged in immature and infantile manipulative behaviors.
I’ve had quite a number of female bosses in my eclectic inventory of careers (including my current boss), and all but one were technically competent, fair-minded and excellent communicators.
But my previous female boss was none of those things. She was supremely un-qualified, irrational, contradictive, emotional, unpredictable and verbally abusive. Not a single tool in my how-to-deal-with-people toolbox worked with her. Fortunately, management finally had enough of her and let her go.
Like some of the above commenters recommended, always be professional, respectful and never, ever criticize her publicly.

Snake +1!
I was gonna say place nails under her tires until she quits, then take her job, but that’s to much work with an unpredictable outcome, so do like Snake says and just quit!
I haven’t worked in 10 f~~~ing years and I am not going to if I can help it. Instead of paying for bitches to treat me like s~~~, I’ve toured the country on their dime. I been off that plantation for a while and not going back. You think calling me a loser is gonna phase me? Sorry, dog, if that s~~~ phased me I’d have got a f~~~ing job years ago. Snake is happy. Snake drinks beer and wine. Snake cooks. Snake goes fishing. Snake gets his dick sucked. 99 problems and MGTOW ain’t one of them.
Thanks Snake,
No one called you a loser, I respect your input. Good to see you again. Hope you are ok.

Hahahaha !!
f~~~ing missed you snake.
better with you here !!Snake where ya been?
Never lose sight of what brought you here.
I actually have a female boss now. I’m fortunate, as you are, that she’s competent and ok to work for. Before her, I also had a cool one, but have seen horror stories too. Just keep it professional only and you’ll do fine

Anonymous12I find it can be easier to be quite honest. Some women like the semi dating feel that working with the opposite sex can bring, there is a different dynamic. One of my managers is female and she is a motherly type who is quite caring, I exploit that to get information and make myself appear useful and generally support her as much as I can because she likes it.
On the contrary my male manager who is also supportive is emotionally distant and keeps work very separate from his home life. He is also very cut throat so I use him for different things.
Just exploit when and where you can.
Snake where ya been?
Gold farming in WoW. Around. Just haven’t had much to say. Lurking. I get drunk and talk s~~~, so I figured I’d spare ya’ll a while.
