I don’t trust anyone working on my stuff, they tighten bolts without using specs, strip nuts and leave them, I’m as methodical as an airplane mechanic, every nut and bolt inspected, never any shortcuts, if something breaks it’s dealt with. Ive seen so many people have their cars literally destroyed by baboons creating stretched bolts and lug scars on everything they twist. I like to buy late model savage where everything is virgin, no surprises like leaks that develop because part is distorted under excessive fastener pressure.
Women working on cars? Ha ha ha ha ha ha, give me a break, their not strong enough to reach in deep and loosen a stubborn bolt that only allows room for a short wrench, lets see her wiggle a cast iron transmission into the pilot bearing while turning the yoke to line up the splines, that’s cars, let alone trucks!

My objection to the story is gender-based scholarships: Are then Men to be awarded scholarships to encourage them to go into nursing until that field is 50% men? Elementary and Secondary Education? Medical and health services managers? Other ‘pink-collar’ jobs dominated by women? If not, then why scholarships for women entering male-dominated professions? It’s called SEXISM.

I’ve met one highly competent female mechanic. She liked to work on machines from a young age. This is atypical and most women don’t want to do this kind of work. Women don’t generally like the trades for a variety of reasons.

It is likely that the real purpose is two-fold:

A – females are responsible for 80% of purchase decisions; a token gesture of goodwill toward Team Girl will not go unnoticed
B – lower salaries for mechanics as a result of increasing the labour pool
