Typing this while I wait for return call from my rental mgmt company.

They emailed me to let me know they are starting eviction process on my single mother. The poor woman.

Just because she’s struggling and continues to pay late every month. Appears that she failed to pay last month’s rent today.

Won’t they be surprised when I tell them not to evict my poor little snowflake. Dangitt, I want her money…..

I recommend you pencil the cost of keeping a non-payer against the cost of a vacancy until a reliable tenant is moved in.

Full disclosure: I prefer the reliable tenant every time. The short term loss is made up many times over in the long term.

Yeah, that’s what mgmt co says as well.

She paid before 5pm deadline so they will wait till next month.

Really don’t want vacancy going into winter. Hopefully she can make it a few more months.

I live in a large condo building where a lot of units get rented out by individual owners as apartments. You wouldn’t believe how many single moms I’ve seen move in over the years post divorce. They all come in with a new car riding high on the hog post divorce hopping back on the carousel…but I’ve been here long enough that I’ve got to see the end game for many of them. Once the alimony/child support ends and/or they’ve blown through whatever lump sum they walked away with post divorce…many of them have ended up getting booted because their 11 dollar an hour job can’t support them self. They end up losing their nice cars because they can’t afford the payments. They end up trying to move in with whatever beta they can trap when the divorce cash and prizes come to an end.

I’ve often imagined the guy on the other side of that situation being the happiest f~~~er alive when that day comes…when years after a divorce he’s finally allowed to move on with his life and start rebuilding, as the day her finances crumble is obviously the day he got to remove the shackles.

My thoughts as well. Plus, you just can’t get better than single mother who destroyed her marriage money.

She paid just before the 5pm deadline. Mgmt company really doesn’t like dealing with her. We shall see.
