Ever since I went MGTOW I have became less and less of a general consumer moron.

Yet at times I still have the urge to buy expensive shoes.

Its really feminine when you think about it but I used to do it in my pre mgtow days.

Any of you get the urge to blow money sometimes?

And it is something like 80 percent of all purchases are done by women.

I see nothing wrong with buying some expensive shoes if you spent the year saving up for them and you’re managing your money well. Personally, I don’t spend a lot of money on myself because I’ve got credit card debt. I tend to buy things that have some practical use rather than stuff to decorate my apartment.

I do not buy much from certain sources since I went MGTOW about a decade ago. Maybe it is just age, or knowledge that brought me to this point. I for sure do not pay for my propaganda anymore.

I’m fine with people buying expensive s~~~. As long as you have the money, I don’t see a problem with people spending a lot of money on things they want to make themselves feel better. I know I’ll be doing the same once I’m making more money.

The thing I have a problem with is men spending a lot of money on women in order to get laid or because the woman is a “high maintenance” woman. That’s the stupid thing I hate seeing. Especially when some poor mangina is running around out in malls, holding purses, or going into Victoria Secret stores to buy clothes such as lingerie.

If, however, I decide I want a $200 pair of shoes for myself and have the money to do so, I see no problem with it. Same if I buy an expensive motorcycle, ATV, mountain bike, car, etc.

I am not the slightest bit materialistic. Apart from the obvious such as furniture and utensils, I own a laptop, a kindle and an exercise bike. My TV is collecting dust and my clothing, although better quality than some, amounts to all I need.
Fifteen plus years ago when I still entertained relationships, I may have given the impression of great material ownership. Although my wallet was much lighter, it turned out that I didn’t actually want or owned any of these items.

Women are so bad, if they changed the law so I kept the house, I still wouldn't marry one. I'd rather be homeless.

I for my part, have never been any fan of consumerism and thus my spending habits have remained somewhat the same. It is consumerism which is the core ideology for depleting the earths natural resources, and it has only gotten worse over the last few decades. To extract so much resources only to make bulls~~~-items ment to last a few months until it breaks, is really a frightening idea. It is better to make fewer items with higher quality (that will last for many years), than the other way around. And all this so that a few individuals at the top can make a profit. Aah, some things will never change it seems.

Nevertheless, I do think that going MGTOW is synonyme to spending less money. As stated by Lottery, it is women that are the top consumers in any society, which is easy to prove even without the use of statistics. And since a redpillman do not pander to women, his wallet will remain untouched and intact. By denying women the use of his money, they will consume less, which results in fewer bs-items sold. With fewer items sold, there will be less demand for it. When something is in less demand its production will decrease. In other words, going MGTOW saves the enviroment, and frees up resources.

It is indeed a good feeling to think, that you are a benefit to your surroundings simply for being yourself!

If that is what you enjoy, then go for it. I think a large part of being MGTOW is the freedom in deciding how and when you will use your resources.

Don’t see anything wrong with a little indulgence. At least shoes serve a purpose and not just a trinket to sit on a mantelpiece.

Having, and collecting “stuff” is not of interest to me.
But if I do buy something, it’s of higher quality and it’s easily justifiable.

    EXAMPLE:

Let’s say you needed/wanted an end table. But rather than going to IKEA and buying some piece of s~~~ block of wood on 4 sticks for $49.99, you would shop around and maybe buy a marble end table by Saarinen for $600.

It’s a classic. Very nice to look at. AND you can own it for 5 / 10 / 15 years and sell it on Ebay for what you paid – or even more(!). It’s something of value.

That’s how I might justify “splurging”.
    It’s a conscious decision.

Same with groceries. I don’t try and *save money* on what I eat. I buy the good peaches that cost more, fresh OJ, and good quality steaks. My mother will buy apples that aren’t even that great, “because they are on sale”. To me, that’s silly.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

My weakness is fine wine , and French antiques and I spend a little money on both from time to time. I already have nice clothes and shoes. My car is utilitarian , because to me it is a tool as I drive every day for work. I used to own a BMW and it was a very nice car , but a money pit. The only thing I really spend more money on than I should is eating out , but paying for 1 is MUCH cheaper than paying for 2.

I spend my money on things that bring me pleasure. PERIOD. I drive a hot car. I have a super fast sportbike. I have guns and ammo out the ass. I had to count my guitars the other day because I lost track (I have 11 thus far). I have 4 or 5 amps to go with the guitars. I have a new one arriving via UPS tomorrow. I have a 50″ 4K ultra HD television.

I DON’T own a house as I don’t want to be tied down like that. I have the itch to live wherever it pleases me. If I pick a particular place to live, then I make it happen. If some broad sticks her hand out and says “gimme!” she gets her hand slapped. I do what makes ME happy. However, at the end of the day I don’t own more than could fit in to a small U-Haul truck. That’s my idea of happiness. Someone else’s happiness is NOT my responsibility. My happiness is my responsibility. I have money and investments. I have a handful of toys that bring me joy. I have a spiritually centered life. What more could one ask for?

I’m with you on not being materialistic at all. My mom often complained (in good nature) that I was… “n~~~~rdly” (wtf, is that a real translation from the Dutch word “gierig”?!), aka a Mr. Scrooge because I couldn’t care less what my shoes looked like, or that I’ve worn the same pants for 7 or 8 years.

I only spend money when something has to be replaced, or if I want to treat myself once every 2 or 3 years. Last year I bought myself a soundbar for the tv and a steering wheel to better play the game Euro Truck Simulator 2. Two years ago I bought the components for building a new computer, and that’s about it.

I don’t care about clothes, as long as you don’t find holes in them, I’ll wear them.

There is nothing wrong with spending money as long as you are spending your money and not the banks money. I save a lot and I’m generally pretty frugal but nobody ever calls me cheap because when I do really want to buy something I won’t hesitate to get what I really want even if it costs me a little more than a cheaper option. I’d rather rarely buy nice things but enjoy the things I do buy than often buy cheap s~~~ just to constantly be getting new stuff. I’d rather be the guy with the little house with awesome things in it than the guy with the mansion who can’t afford furniture.

My short and simple answer to this is: Increasingly only for “real needs” rather than for “suggested or induced wants” or “so-called must-haves”.

I'd rather die a natual death with a clear MGTOW conscience somewhere off the grid than one within "modern" civilisation with a big stress mark on my forehead and a couple of dozen tubes plugged into my body. Although I have toned down a lot of my old consumer habits, I still have my thirst for technology, which helps me in my endeavours and future goals, in most parts, hah.

We all have our favourite poison, which will die hard, like all old habits. As long it’s got nothing to do with getting yourself in a beartrap, relationship, you should be safe.

A man should treat himself, often enough, to make it worth the hard work, which was endured, to reach this far.

Some new shoes, a new tie, new headphones, new computer, new tablet, if it has purpose and gives you focus and rejuvenate your resolve, it’s more than likely worth it.
