Comedians, Athletes and Performers Die Younger link

“The studies reviewed here suggest that being creative and famous might not always lead to positive outcomes. One evolutionary explanation for the fact that creative and famous people die relatively young is that from an evolutionary perspective, long term survivorship is not so important, as long as you reproduce many healthy offspring. Evolution is all about reproduction, and death is just a byproduct. Famous and creative people, such as comedians and athletes, tend to have many sexual partners, often leading to a large number of children (or would have led, during the critical period of evolution when humans lived as hunter-gatherers and contraception did not exist). As long as you can reproduce quickly at an early age, evolution doesn’t care if you die young.”

So for anyone wishing to make it big in life and become a celebrity, do not expect yourself to live longer than the average person. Maybe, once they retire from their careers, they will lose that chef aim. Also, I even read an autobiography of a celebrity musician that retired at one point(Yanni, the new age musical artist) and he mentions that he reached a point of his life where he is desensitized by all the simple joys in his life like the fact that he does not have a great joy in eating in McDonald’s anymore like common people do, because of all the luxuries he gained in his life due to his work. I thought that maybe this article can be a good read.

I’m not surprised really. These people live fast, especially musicians, look at the 27 club for example all the musos who died at age 27.

Similar to the past where the wealthy would eat high fat, high calorie diets because they could afford to and the poor would eat oysters and drink port because it was cheaper but also healthier by default.
