First, I must admit that I was wrong about Bitcoin and Ethereum. I said they were in a bubble /have since pulled back/, had no liquidity, and nothing backing them. I was ignorant and I am disappointed in myself for dismissing them so quickly. Thank you Keymaster for the financial Red Pill.

    That said.

I decided to dip my toe in the water so to speak and get long 2 ETH. I liked Coinbase/GDAX because it is idiot proof and they would hold my keys and wallet for me. The problem is I cannot fund the account with my credit card. I keep getting, “something went wrong please try again later”. This has been going on since Monday. I have contacted support to no avail. I am afraid to try Etherdelta because I am too new to this and I see too many posts about lost wallets and stolen ETH. /it is peer to peer/

So, what to do now? I am thinking about Kracken.

I missed this weeks chance to grab ETH at around 290 and watched helplessly as it went to 328. /it has since pulled back/

I am p~~~ed about the missed opportunity and with Bitcoins failure to implement SegWit2x I think a buying opportunity is coming.

Right now I cannot even get into the game. Any ideas are appreciated.

To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.

I would have agreed with that 100% before I did my homework. Dig deeper and you will see the demand and just how much is riding on crypto currency. It is in its infancy and will get bigger. It is not going to just go away. Demand is huge.

I presume you are in the States? Looks like it’s the best place to be for adding funds to Coinbase.

Coinbase supports a variety of payment methods for US customers to buy or deposit, including bank transfers, credit cards, debit cards, and bank wires.

I’m in the UK and it was s~~~ for me at first, I had a low weekly limit. I worked out how to send funds via international bank transfer however and was able to buy one bitcoin and a handful of ethereum in one go.

Just keep trying. Once you get some create a vault in Coinbase and store them there, it’s more secure.

Don’t listen to the naysayers, if you want to get in then get in. The bottom line is nobody knows how this is all going to go.

It could be worthless, it could be the best move you ever make. If you only invest what you can afford to lose, there’s no problem.

Thank you mgtow_taoist. Yes, I am in the States. I have been to the link you provided so many times I want to punch it. There are other options to fund the account, but if they think they are getting my bank info they are nuts. I will not give up. /if you are going to try go all the way/ Once I do get funded I will take your advice about the vault. I really want to create my own wallet and move my coins there, but I am too new to start getting fancy.

Why not link your bank account?

    Paranoia and inexperience.

    Intriguing.

I want to clarify. I do NOT have insider information. It is just something that is not ready to be talked about in the forum.

Stick with what you know. That is why I am not investing large sums of money. Too new. Damn it sucks to be a newbie.

I just can’t bet in something I don’t understand at all.

I basically don’t know what is a bitcoin, block chain, I know a lot of computers are calculating something but no one knows what it is.

There is a veil of secrecy around bitcoin, I’m a young fellow, but I have learned, if they hiding it, something is not right.

Exactly my point. Trade or invest in what you know. You said you have a plan. Stick to it.

I’m guessing lots of companies have your bank details. The majority of them are probably less trustworthy than companies involved in crypto, which is inherently anti-establishment.

you know how investing works…it’s all a bet, and don’t bet more than you can afford to lose.

Put a million dollars into it? mmmm no. $100 yeah, ok why not.

Those who have mastered it are convinced it’s going to be big.

You don’t need to master it to believe in its potential however.

Look where we’re headed, everything ‘smart’ i.e. connected to the grid and therefore the authorities will have complete control over your life.

Crypto is going to remain one of the few things the authorities can’t get their hands on. Which is a good thing as it’s giving power back to the people.

Very good point. I now feel better about giving them my info. They have a lot to lose if they f~~~ this up.

    $100 yeah, ok why not.

It is worth it for the entertainment and education alone. This game is very risky.
