Greetings gentlemen,

This topic came up in a discussion in the thread “What is Chad?” MG-Tower made a comment about “bad brakes” which reminded me of a e-pamphlet put out by the Church of the SubGenius.

This is something I stumbled across years ago. In retrospect, I think these guys are MGTOWs. They invented a satire church, and they talk about the “need for Slack”, which is basically what MGTOWs are after as well.

Here’s one of their “commercials”:

Their “savior” is a fictional MGTOW-like character named Bob Dobbs, who was a traveling salesman who discovered “Slack” (i.e. the Red Pill). They also talk a lot about the “Pink Boys” (i.e. Blue Pill manginas). I think there’s some interesting parallels between this and MGTOW. A lot of their stuff is hilarious and enlightening at the same time.

I find this interesting because, while I’m a man of faith, I don’t believe in the “Church” anymore (at least not in the traditional sense). I believe that it’s been corrupted beyond repair due to the mangina clergy that have taken it over during the last couple of centuries. I know there’s other guys on here that have the same issue with this who might appreciate this sort of humor.

Nah, I think it’s just a parody of organized religion in general, as well as the establishment. They make fun of everyone–TV preachers, Christians, New Agers, and on and on.

They’re spot on though regarding the CONspiracy (establishment), Pink Boys (Blue Pillers), and Slack (Red Pills).

It’s a LOT to digest, and it’s very offbeat. Some of it is dumb. Not going to be everyone’s pint of beer…it’s kinda like the Monty Python version of a cross between the Catholics and the Evangelicals.

I’m a “card carrying” member of the Church of the SubGenius. I paid my $1 and got my ticket… have been since 1986.

Cross reference them with the Discordian movement. You’ll find a LOT of men in these “organizations” who were MGTOW long before such a thing even existed.

Yes I am. And I got my divine excuse as well, both framed on my office wall next to my Degree in Sociometry from Miskatonic University.
