I think he would illustrated his point better if he had two identical pendulums, brought it into the same position, then released. Then for some time they would behaved the same, then difference between two increased, and finally their behavior would completely different.
The simplest lesson is: if you want order(e.g. thing are going your way), correct the chaos at as many points as you can. The less control points and understanding of the process, the more efforts you have to apply for this.Marriage is the tomb of love (c)Giacomo Casanova
And it wouldn’t take very long for both pendulum to behave in a totally different manner. Chaos theory is such a cool concept that we can witness this in our everyday lives. Also The more things change the more they remain the same… Nature seems to behave in this predictable manner. Patterns that change to eventually revert to its original form.

You must own a better Crystal ball than IThere are just too many variables to consider in Chaos theory…The concept is solid, but the amount of computing power to factor in all the variables is very big…
And then to connect it with string theory and the Heisenberg uncertainty principle and we really got a wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff…Hope someone can unravel the idea and unify everything…
The problem is when we delve deeper into string theory, the physics are different and does not follow the “normal” calculations…To loop around into 4d and 5d…Chaos…Enjoy the madness…Plus we still dont know the effect of dark matter that makes up most of the mass of the universe but is unseen…Perhaps in a few eons when we make leap and bounds into computing power we can solve some complex equations and simulations…
I stand with feet apart and let my balls hang free...Manginas dont have balls...See how they stand and sit at the whim of their masters...
Thanks NerdTunneler an awesome post for science enthusiasts! Your post will be hard to beat .
