I wished I had the IP protocols to trace back the trolling.

Of course, the perpetrator will use a VPN but that all by itself is a hint on someone here with 2 accounts.

The time offset between my post and the incoming “has just followed you”-threat was so extremely short that the perpetrator had to be “on the ball”, reading what I write and have a PC already booted and logged in to send his “…follows you”.

That is no coincidence and I will observe it further.

Eventually everyone leaves a pattern and reveals his or her identity.

Bill wasn’t even here when Heyoka flew off the rails and started acting like an ass. In fact, we’ve had several “trolls” on this forum without Bill’s presence. You’re overlooking the issue entirely and not seeing the situation for what it is. There’s virtually no trolling on the site. Does a person create an account? Yes. Can they change their name to antagonize forum members? Yes. Ultimately who are the ones making the threads, and creating the controversy in the first place? This is what you’re not understanding.

This online troll at one point was targeting ME on this site. Did you see me make a thread about it? No. Did you see me complain and give it attention? No. So what happened? It moved on. It went after someone else. Someone else it knew would give it attention. Give it controversy. How hard is this to understand. Don’t give them attention, they leave you alone. First basic premise of dealing with women. Ignore them, eventually they take the hint and walk away. This troll can only “trigger” us so long as we “feed the gators”. Stop playing into their hands, and eventually they’ll move on. But so long as members continue to fall for the trap, the game continues.

All this person is doing is making the profile, and letting everyone else do the rest. A few simple changes to the profile. Boom. More drama. This f~~~ing person can’t even post on the site for f~~~’s sake! Their accounts are in spectator mode. The only ones adding to the problem are the ones making the “member” announcement threads. Just stop doing it. Stop falling for the trap. It’s not that hard a thing to do. It’s like deja vu having these discussions to the same people, and nothing changes. That’s textbook insanity. I’m done. If people can’t comprehend this concept, then I’m done trying to explain it. Maybe I’m just expecting too much of grown adults.

Ip’s don’t mean s~~~. There’s workaround for that. In fact, I’ve ALREADY EXPLAINED a rather simple workaround. If I wanted to do it (which I don’t) I could easily use my neighbor’s wifi, a McDonald’s wifi, a computer at the library, a VPN, or any other means. You’re not going to find them via ip if they know what they’re doing. So the whole idea is a giant waste of time. You’d be better served reporting their email addresses to the email providers. That would at least force them to sign up with new email addresses. But even that is fool proof. The simpler solution is non engagement. Esp since these accounts are not even active and can’t post.

I suggest that KM turns off the notification for “follow/unfollow” events.

Problem solved. Communication platform cut off. Then the troll can no longer “message” us.

Getting/Being followed is not such an important event to have it in the notification bell.

And some forums make changing usernames and handles impossible without the aid of the admin.

That would immediately solve the second problem of spamming the board with insulting user names.

Fair suggestions, but the reality is, the forum requires proactive moderation from admins, not reactive. The more obvious stuff can be weeded out daily. This is the downside to having the forum moderate itself. Because there’s no prevention in place to keep stuff from spiraling out of control, until the janitor comes and mops up. But if you want to keep the janitor from doing mop ups, you’ve got to make sure your pipes aren’t clogged.

We are faced with the fact that this is somewhat of a secret forum that must be run in secrecy.

Run by one man of honor who can keep silent about it.

KM is the man who took all of the risks and does this for humanitarian reasons.

He can’t go on the Stock Exchange and hire people to take care of us.

Even hiring local staff would expose him. And give these people ways to knock him out. Like #metoo and other bandit strategies.
