This is strange to me. It gets even stranger when you hear what people are saying. Yeah, some of the items on the tax exempt list are stupid, such as wedding cakes. But agricultural equipment? I’d mark that up there in the essential category.

Also, the bit about not taxing tobacco leaves is a huge lie since the Canadian government taxes the s~~~ out of tobacco.

    Your thoughts?

i heard about this.  removing the tax on tampons because it punishes women for being women.  Problem is women receive more benefits/services than men do so they should not be getting special exemptions.  probably an attempt by the conservative government to win some female support.  i avoid the news here so i admittedly don’t know all the details.

tobacco leaves are taxed; tabacco plants themselves aren’t though; from what i understand.

Anywho, yeah i also think its completely retarded.

Not only is it forcing men to now pay for the taxes on womens tampons, but its forcing grocery stores to blow THOUSANDS on updating their software so that the taxes of individual items can have gst removed from them.

Absolutely retarded; and then they will need an entirely new department created just for the sole purpose of enforcing this new law…

All so that women don’t have to pay f~~~ing 5% GST on their tampons.

Yeah, this is why i keep randomly saying, “d000m” to people. Because the NDP are in power.

If people were taxed for their brain cells women would pay less considering they have less active brains cells it seems. In Canada diapers are taxed why aren’t they exempt?

Because diapers could go on boys.

It is the “patriarchy” forcing women to keep their vaginal juices off of male chairs of power. Feminists will next demand the freedom to wear no underwear and bleed as nature intended; It will lead to a State-mandated monthly holiday for women to compensate .  It will be known as Business Efficiency day.

So, apparently, only 75k “signatures” were needed to put this tax removal inplace.

I’m certain that there are many more who would be against it than 75k.

    So!

I’ve started a petition to stop this “tampon tax removal”!

    Pass it along!

Why should they be exempt?, tampons aren’t even essential, they’re more like luxury/convenience items, nothing stuffing a rag in there won’t fix.

If anyone needs proof that Canada is the gynocentric capital of the world, this is it.
