You have to factor in corruption and dishonesty at Local council level as we, councils always say they have no money and always have.

And I gaurantee you they have enough money to pay council leaders huge salaries.

The French and Germans are asking the same questions.

The previous government wanted to spend money (in the multiple millions of pounds) in the originating countries to develop facilities for refugees there, and kids would be able to stay with their parents rather than travelling unaccompanied but this was deemed to be an evil capitalist plan by the moronic left.

So now the kids have arrived (and there have been stories of adults pretending to be kids) the councils are complaining because the government did what they asked but it is costing them.

As It’sallbs points out, a lot of these councils have major surpluses and during the financial crisis it became clear that some of them had invested huge amounts of money in hedge funds and in foreign banks (particularly in Iceland), and were claiming poverty for their region, demanding more money from the government and awarding themselves huge salaries in the process.

This has been the trend for a while now. If an asylum seeker is below a certain age, they cannot be deported. Fast forward a few years and the kid is now an adult and will probably be awarded citizenship. They can then apply to have the rest of their family con over and live with them.
