So, I’m a truck driver and crane operator, and it’s just recently that I’ve started making OK money. However, I also produce and compose music in my free time as a creative outlet, and I’ve learned all kinds of things about electronic music production. I’ve released a few EP’s and have done some touring, but that’s not all I want to do. I’ve always wanted to create music for movies and videogames, and this year I got a $1500 commission for composing an OST for an indie game.

My question is, how do I go beyond that? I only was contracted because I had been friends with the guys who made it from the beginning. How do I make contacts in the industry? It’s something I love doing, and believe it or not, there are more composers for film and videogames than there are on the radios right now, and the music industry is so fruity nowadays that I don’t ever expect, nor do I really want to make it big. And also, videogames are the most lucrative entertainment business out there, making more than movies and music combined, so there might be a future in it. Any advice?
