I’ve been parting out and trying to sell a couple of guitars I had custom made from Warmoth on craigslist, so I decided to buy a less expensive one that the funds from those sales would cover. Got a pretty good deal on a used Schecter on e-bay that ended up being $100 less than retail and still in great shape.

I got the one in Vintage Sunburst. Wasn’t sure I wanted a Floyd, but given I’ve never changed tuning from standard I figured I might as well get one with it.

Also got this little beauty for a practice amp awhile ago.

I think I’m going to start messing around with the Reaper DAW for fun.

My recording engineer friend loves Reaper. He prefers it over Pro-Tools. I haven’t had the chance to use that DAW, but I’m sure I will try it eventually.

I have an old Ibanez with a Floyd Rose and the tuning stability is amazing even when using the Whammy bar. The only downside is that the Bridge flops in if the E string snaps.

I had an Ibanez RG with the original FR that I sold a few years ago. I love the thinner profile neck, though I really didn’t like the humbucker, single, humbucker layout. I like to either have just a bridge pickup or bridge and neck. I have a couple humbuckers from Bare Knuckle pickups that I might have installed in the Schecter if I don’t like the stock pickups. I’m not big of the real crazy whammy bar stuff but I always liked how David Gilmour incorporated it into his playing with some subtle dynamics.

For the price it’s hard to beat. I’m also looking into some of the Toontrack drum software. You can use a midi keyboard with it, which is great because I can’t play the drums for s~~~.
