There are plenty of good blue collar careers out there, so I’d thought I’d list a few. Some of these require training, but not the fluff you get from college. I’m talking very minimal, very practical, everything you need and nothing you don’t. So I’ll list a few.

-Truck Driver: Great if you want to get out and see the country. You’re on the road, and you can make a lot of money. Really great if you don’t have some wife and kid at home. You can make a lot of money over the road, especially if you get some endorsements like haz mats, tanker, and so on.

-Forklift operator: Very simple to do. Most forklift operators, at least where I live make about 15 bucks an hour to start out. It’s easy, you don’t break your back, and it’s a great way to get your foot in the door at other places.

-Crane Operator: Even operating a small crane, not those towering city cranes, you can start off making 20 bucks an hour. STARTING OUT.

I happen to have done all these things. I learned to run a forklift first, then became a truck driver/crane operator. The crane is mounted to the truck and you transport it to the job site. There’s not much physical labor operating a crane, but it is skilled work. I’m very young, early 20’s and am making great money as a crane operator. The best part, most companies will pay to have you trained if you are a serious and loyal employee. You can drop 1000 bucks, or your company can, to get you trained and you’ve just went from minimum wage to 50 grand a year. No 4 year degree, no tens od thousands in debt, just simple straight forward learning.

Drop some more ideas, fellas. There are plenty of jobs out there that nobody wants, but they pay well. If I stay the course, you can put money back very well. And the more experience you have, the more you are paid. Easy money fellas.

If you go specific and get certified for underwater welding and can fill a vacancy in Alaska you when the prize for most valuable employee on the planet. He said it is the biggest paid position that cannot be filled.

Rumor mill among people I know who have relatives that are truck drivers is:

Due to this google self-driving technology, which is already be implemented in society/along with a fleet of 2000 self driving trucks already be entered into the work force, most truck drivers are concerned about the “longevity” of their job field.

The issue with the truck driving is the implementation of technology. It is sadly one of the blue collar careers that could be eradicated within the next 5-10 years due to technology.
