Bitcoin and other block chain technology will go for peanuts after the bubble burst. Every generation needs its own ponzi scheme to realize that value is derived from rarity, not from speculation.

You can get now unlimited web hosting for 4.99 USD per month and in 5 years you will have subscription based blockchain tech for peanuts. And bitcoin, well no go in my book. Peanuts if it will be still around.

Well if we are totally honest,………do not think a single currency is backed by anything, other then the government issuing it. Which makes bitcoin about the same as a bit of paper(or plastic polymer) you hold in your hand. The only difference one having a physical the other electronic.

Now on the topic of electronic,…..the ones saying it is crap are in effect using an electronic currency now. Paycheck is deposited by your employer electronically into your account, you pay your bills with a click or two. Go to the store pay with a card. For a lot of people go through the day with out physically touching a physical currency.

The push to ban physical currency has not really happened yet but it is a possibility. Then Bit is on the same level as any other currency. More or less the only thing backing is good faith of the people using.

It could be due to the upcoming hard fork. Some people have made a tidy profit. I am not cashing out though, I’m holding on for the long term.
