There now is a medical condition for the overweight person who cannot simply stop being a glutton. (Not for those who are fat because of serious reasons which is the tiny minority.) For those who cannot simply admit they are fat because they eat too much and exercise too little let their hamsters be soothed now introducing B.E.D.

Be prepared soon people will not be big-boned, voluptuous or pleasantly plump. They will be patients of Binge Eating Disorder. Which you better use because it is the political correct thing to say or your a fascist. Currently more than 50% of Americans suffer from binge eating disorder.

This is a real thing, but it’s nowhere near 50%. According to Wikipedia, “The lifetime prevalence of binge eating disorder has been observed in studies to be 2.0 percent for men and 3.5 percent for women“.

I’ve been a binge eater, but I don’t qualify for the disorder because my binges are mostly pre-meditated, and I usually don’t feel bad about it. These days, my binges are mostly like Tim Ferriss’s cheat days…done to release pent-up cravings so that I can eat sensibly for a while without being bothered by temptation.

Here’s the deal: “disorder” just means there’s something wrong with you. But for fatties it’s obvious something is wrong with them. It does not mean it’s not their own damn responsibility to fix whatever is wrong with them.

So-called Binge Eating Disorder doesn’t excuse obesity any more than Antisocial Personality Disorder excuses murder.

It think we have all binged eaten before. Especially around holidays. That being said a binge is defined as a short period devoted to indulging in activity to excess, especially drinking alcohol or eating. B.E.D. is a series of repetitive binges. So it is not a binge because it is constantly occurring. I realize there is a need to define being fat as a disorder. It needs to be defined to do studies and gain funding. However, being forced to put an excessive amount of calories in your body is not a disorder because it does not happen. Just like a woman with the thousand c~~~ stare. No one forced her to suck a thousand c~~~s. Lack of calories yes people do go hungry. But not being able to put the fork down no. If your fat and okay with it great. If your not happy being fat don’t blame a disorder. Unless there is a real reason in which case it would not be B.E.D.

You may say stop being so harsh on fat people who don’t take responsibility for their actions. No because it’s the very same case with women who f~~~ hundreds of guys and wonders why no one wants to commit.

It is in DSM-5. I just now looked it up, inspired by another thread. Any excuse to sell drugs will do, “we have a pill for that.”
