Big wave body surfing

Out of everthing to do with ocean this was one of my most favourite of all .

Use to have a hand paddle and flippers with ankle savers attached . Flippers are not scuba flippers .

I use to love getting dumped into the sand . Its like been in a washing machine .

Real bad if you get dumped in big surf and are comming up for air to be hit by a second wave .

Might look easy but there is an art to it .

Never underestimate the surf . Many people drown .

That’s why I quit downhill trading it for the supperpipe and back country! I almost hit a tree doing 70mph! I hit a death cookie!(frozen cookie size ice chunk) F~~~ THAT!!!

70 mile an hour into a tree . One way of getting woman to hit the wall i mean tree .

This runs 51 secs . This guy knows his s~~~ .

Storm season use to be something to look forward to . I nearly drowned when i was in my teens . Beaches were shut and my mates dared me .

Took ages to get out and first wave was f~~~in huge . I free fell and it was deep water at the bottom so i was down a bit long . Got to the surface to be hit again .

I prefer sand than been dumped with deep water at the bottom

it just doesnt look hard to ski on snow . But sure it would be more to it than that

It’s fun watching people p~~~ their pants for you! That super pipe in the video is the one I do, People freak when I/we drop in high and fast then do reverse spins 6 to 10 ft over the rim then drop back in for a landing doing the same trick on the opposite wall, it’s pretty scary, bone crushing and ligament tearing velocity if you f~~~ up on your timing! Lots of vertigo is the big payoff! I consume enough vertigo in one day to leave the average person puking for a week!

I’ve gotten big airs off the jumps and tables almost to the top of the tree line! You just need good steep landings, too far and you land in the flats real hard likely breaking something! packed powder and ice means s~~~loads of SPEED! Deep powder means you can do the deadly steeps as the snow slows you down tremendously and softens the landings, like landing on a cloud! The same drop when it’s packed down and icy means blood if you were stupid enough to launch it!

The conditions dictate what you can and can’t do, especially ICE! You bleed when you hit the ice!

I’ll make a skier out of you yet, blade! The Super pipe is 50 ft across and 25 feet high.

When i learned to water ski back when i was young it took me a few goes to get up on two ski’s .

My foster brother up first go . Comes back and found it to easy . Goes one ski and he was straight up and skiing like a pro . Miss him . Plantation and white night trainer .

We have had a number of people dumped into sand and end up paraplegics . There has been a number of cases has been held against local councils because it happend between the flags .

Sometimes if i was on a wave and was about to get dumped you fold in half and cut back threw the wave . I prefer been dumped .

When i lived right on the beach once when i vanished for a bit i use to go for a swim at night in summer when it is so f~~~in hot its like been in an oven .

One night i hit something with my foot . Yes that something was a shark . It was as best i remember as i was catching a wave .

F~~~ i came straight in and it put me off for little bit .

Other time me and my step son in another incident had a big school of fish go under us with sharks following .

Body surfing i guess is as close to fealing what a dolphin feals on a wave .

Use to be able to buy HAND webs . They were good to wear on the opposite hand from the paddle . Havent seen them used in a long time . Markets there . Alot of kids used them back in the day on boogie boards . Maybe market watcher / mr pink lol might want to check it out .

I’v gone over the top of a wave and been beached in the returning rush of sand and only inches of water! If it was coral I likely wouldn’t be writing this! I learned you don’t stand up in coral in the tropics, you swim to the SAND! Sea urchins! F~~~ing porcupines of the sea! If the coral doesn’t sand you down the sea urchins will impale with their poisonous quills! I know my way around the surf and how to abort.

My biggest fear are the great whites that roam those waters! I’m just fish food! I lived only a few miles from the beach when I was a kid, I can bodyboard but that’s like laying on a snowboard instead of skiing! I was stung by a man of war from the tips of my fingers all the way down to my toes when I swam over one! That f~~~ing hurt!

With you been at the bottom of that tube you would understand how big that face is in your tube picture .

Same with the surf . The waves dont look big until you get out there .

So i can see we both can appreciate that where alot of people wouldnt get it .

Helped heaps of tourists over my time that have underestimated the size of the waves . Lots of drownings .

Got to be carefull if there really panicking and are not a good swimmer ( normally f~~~in asians that can hardly swim in a kids pool ) because they can grab you and take you down . They dont speak english so ya best lettin em tire out a bit if ya in that situation . Rips .

Rips are notorious for drownings . Its where the water runs back out near a sand bank when the tides running out .

People panick and swim against it . You ALWAYS swim across a rip .

Alot of rips finnish behind the breaks . I love them because i use them as an elevator ride to get out the back (surf breaks) . No effort needed .

We have had a part of our beach that had a small one the local kids would play in . Like some of there parents and grandparents it was a good spot to teach them about rips . All 4 of the kids i taught there about rips and they always loved playin in it . It use to run in then like bounce out to a sand bank .

Sand banks do change from time to time but our damage is man made .

Oh our beaches and creeks have been f~~~ed up some more as of recently .

My youngest would not hop in a pool . Was scared s~~~less . Took to the surf like a fish .

Then next to that rip we had another wich was the advance ment rip lol.

Two step kids were country kids . Lol . Funny as back then as i look back . Good memories there we have there .

Hey tower i bet when your about to bite the dust do you go all limp and s~~~ .

I do if i am heading for sand . You dont break bones that way .

When the wind blows on sure we get blue bottle jelly fish .

Stings potency varies .

Get a bad one and f~~~ ya going to feel it .

ALWAYS take a bottle of frozen water if you go to the beach with kids .

If a young kid gets hit by a bad one they can go into annaphalactic shock .

I tossed her in the car and stopped at a bottle shop and grabbed ice . The guy in there i new and could hear her screaming . My hand was f~~~ed i was in pain to .
