Found an interesting and funny comic, but I think it is better placed here in the philosophy forum. Take the time to read it, 20 – 30 mins (with the sources).

    Enjoyed that, thanks.

The bit about Washington inspired a thought back to a reference to the following quote by Founding Father Thomas Jefferson: “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

New Hampshire resident William Kostric caused a national stir on August 11 / 2011 when he appeared outside President Obama’s town hall meeting in Portsmouth with a loaded semiautomatic handgun strapped to his leg. Kostric held a sign that read, “IT IS TIME TO WATER THE TREE OF LIBERTY!”.

Asked to explain the message he was trying to send, Kostric stated, “I wanted people to remember the rights that we have and how quickly we’re losing them in this country … It doesn’t take a genius to see we’re traveling down a road at breakneck speed that’s towards tyranny.” While Kostric claimed he was not calling for violence, many viewed his actions as threatening and assumed that the “tyrant” he had in mind was the president.

William Kostric LOOKED like “the tyrant”….
but he was actually being patriotic.

“Antifa” thinks they are “anti-fascists”… but they are the REAL fascists who are actually ( and physically! ) masked and disguised as anti-fascists.

Extract from Thomas Jefferson to William Stephens Smith
    Paris Nov. 13. 1787.

The people can not be all, & always, well informed. the part which is wrong [. . .] will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. if they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. we have had 13. states independant 11. years. there has been one rebellion. that comes to one rebellion in a century & a half for each state. what country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms. the remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. what signify a few lives lost in a century or two? the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. it is it’s natural manure.

WHO are the patriots, and WHO are the tyrants?
According to Oscar Wilde, “Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious”.

The “women’s march” was a mass delusion and gathering of bitter bitches who thought they were somehow “protesting” something…. and it turns out , what they were protesting was just the votes of OTHER WOMEN who already peacefully “protested” at the ballot box. And then Madonna grabs a microphone and yells thoughts about blowing up the whitehouse.

    “The Backfire Effect”.

    Hollowmile,

I read the whole thing and it makes a lot of sense. Just like how we men were brought up to believe in the best interest of society (being the provider, protector, saviour). Saying to an average man that love is a chemical reaction in his brain, which is pushing him to procreate, will most likely result in automatic defence. We need to appreciate the big picture, instead of trying so hard to keep the walls of our belief system in tact.

A tranquil mind is neither happy nor sad, it is uninfluenced by external conditions.

I found it very interesting to consider the matter of being attacked.
The Amygdala is responsible for the feeling, that when are in danger when we are getting physically threatened or attacked. It is the place in the brain which triggers flight or counter-defense.

And now they want to find in the tomograph that the places in the brain, which react to physical threat and violence, respond the same way when we are confronted with information that contradicts our world image, so we feel “attacked” in our environment.

To contradict a person in his opinion is, therefore, likely to trigger the same brain reactions as e.g. to be attacked by a robber with the stick.

That would explain that people attack you physically or try to do so, when you start questioning or destroy their worldview, just explaining your worldview with your own words, and only with words.

Let’s be thankful for that part of the brain.

There are also plenty of circumstances (like with red-pill wise men) who need to CONSTANTLY “be on the defensive”. i.e. when a woman appears to ask an “innocent” question, which is anything but innocent.

Like on a date, when you’re being interrogated. That’s exactly what it is. An interrogation. She might ask “so how long was your last relationship?” or “how do you feel about marriage?” and the 18746154365413 f~~~-thousand other possible questions that are anything but innocent.

You might also SAY something innocent like you’re “allergic to cats”, and she will use that as an excuse not to sleep with you, because in her mind, it’s “cruelty to kittens”.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.
