Just came across this last night, but the event occurred Jun 20th. I really like the phrase “… was neutralized by the soldiers present.”
Clear execution of the rules of engagement equates to one dead “terror suspect”. Kudos to the Belgian Armed forces on Tuesday.

Belgian soldiers patrolling Central Station in Brussels Tuesday night shot a suspect after a small explosion that officials called a “terror attack.”

Eric Van der Sypt, spokesman for the Belgian federal prosecutor’s office, said that after the blast “the suspected perpetrator was neutralized by the soldiers present.” No bystanders were injured in the explosion and the station was evacuated.

Van der Sypt said it is unknown whether the suspect survived being shot. He also said he does not know the attacker’s identity.

The Belgian capital has been on high alert since suicide bombers killed more than 30 people at the city’s airport and a subway station in March 2016.

Tuesday’s incident is the third attack in two days in a European capital.

I’m glad they shot first and asked questions later. Some bleeding-heart liberal journalists here were questioning the soldiers’ quick response to the attack, advancing that they may have illegally used lethal force (!) As if the terrorist was going to be nice and fluffy with them!
Every time I pass by one of our soldiers I greet them and thank them for their service.

I greet them and thank them for their service.

As retired military untamed, I can say firsthand that it is always great when adults thank a serviceman for their service. Thank you as well.
