I won’t go into details but the bottom line is a new boss has come in to my company and is going to start culling us.

There has been some backstabbing involved but everyone feels they have to be all “nice as pie” to this t~~~ because they want a decent payoff…this guy has been trying to be our best friend whilst sticking the knife in which shows how scummy he is

My anger and stress levels have been through the roof over the last few months due to this…I feel I have been selling my soul. Finally I have stopped – I just got so fed up with it that I am now just a polite “morning” and “goodbye” bloke and obviously answer any work questions he has. He has now noticed this and keeps away unless he has to come over

I feel like the weight has come off my shoulders. It is only a small thing but being true to myself and not selling myself out has made me feel so much better about the whole thing

As I get older I find I take less and less s~~~ (as do most people) and it really is the only way to be

I hate dickheads who act superior because of their title.
You are handling it like a pro.
I see them as a pesky mosquito you can’t squash but can bat away at.

Sounds good. No problem. I never realized that, Ok. Sure. Yes. See you later. Bye.

It is an extreme level of narcissism they have, and I have to read damn psychology books to figure out tricks for dealing with these asshats.

pretty much what I am doing now. I honestly can’t tell you the relief I feel…I was getting more and more angry over it and I think a lot of it was anger at myself for sucking up to that utter c~~~

I hope you have some interviews lined up. You may end up with a better job. Best wishes to you.

Good for you brother. It’s a huge release when you finally drop the pretence, I know. Sounds like you’re doing the minimal to keep things civil and he’s noticing that, I wouldn’t be surprised if things at work turn out well for you now.

It’s best to treat co-workers, and management like a good “Hi and Bye” neighbor.

Say “Good Morning”, or “Have a Nice Afternoon” as you are on the way out the door, and always be as professional/polite as possible as you reply to them as NEEDED.

Other then that, Ghost on through the day.

You can’t stop your new “BOSS” from doing what he’s going to do, so, WHY bother worrying about him or attempt to try and be an ass kisser, not that you would want to under the “best” of circumstances, just steer clear, do your job and go home.

Sometimes, just being left alone to do your job is easier said then done.
