Rap/Hip Hop was still about having fun before the rise of Gangster Rap in the early to mid 90’s,

The early 90s, championship belts and personalized leather bombers, that Dapper Dan s~~t. I miss the days when I still enjoyed new music & had future releases to look forward to. Nowadays, I have a hard time finding anything less than 10 years old I want to listen to, although that is part of getting older I suppose.

The saying those were the days, is used by every generation and it wasn’t the era, it was youth. Youth is amazing, as others have pointed out the 80s and 90s had problems too, but viewed through hindsight it’s easy remember them fondly, especially given the present state of affairs.

High school and college in the 80’s were a magical time. No cell phones, no internet, no fakebook, no fat chicks, no transgender, no constant connection and validation to things you do not give a s~~~ about, nor should. The list goes on and on. I’m going to agree with the guys on here that would go back. There was a lighthearted fun about it that we have lost due to feminism and political correctness. We are always moving forward and “progressing” as a species, which is good. However, this current wave of progress is what will eventually fall the U.S. and mankind as we know it. They say that if you are going down the wrong path it is never to late to turn around. Hence MGTOW. Any man with any sense as a man, sees the future and understands the momentum of the coming s~~~ storm.

It's never to late to be what you might have been...

I think some of you oldies have gotten nostalgic. You can live in the 80s if you want, get rid of your computer, phone, vacuum cleaner etc.

You’ll soon realise how easy life is with technology. Or you can become a hermit and live in the woods.

The main difference I see, is back in the 80’s most people were content and happy, now they’re demanding and miserable.

Women are so bad, if they changed the law so I kept the house, I still wouldn't marry one. I'd rather be homeless.

Pre-Internet was easier for a man to be a man as you were not bombarded by what urban centers and the media organizations were telling you was correct. You had a chance to do your own thing in peace without someone repeating someone elses viewpoints.

Basic communication is good, blatent propoganda without restraint is bad. Give me the 60’s & 70’s.

    Exactly!

If you were around in the 80’s and are here now in this thread and saying you would not want to go back I can only guess you must of had a bad childhood or something, and for that I am sorry.

The 80’s mindset, day to day simplicity, and lack of straight up crazy all around you was indeed a better time for everyone. And as Shreddage so astutely pointed out, we were yet to be surrounded by fat chicks. Guess what? Entitled fat angry feminist chicks? Back then we would have said, “what the f~~~ is that? I don’t see any.” We also were pretty much past racism, now post Obama it almost feels like the government and media are trying to start a race war. We got Charles f~~~ing Manson running the show…Everything is identity politics, rage, and hate. F~~~ the internet, f~~~ cell phones, f~~~ all of it, I too would go back and stay in the 80’s with Shreddage if I could in a heartbeat. Walk around in my Iron Maiden T-shirts and pick up on in shape, low attitude girls all day long.

Oh, and guess what? Back then the cars they made could actually be worked on by the average man. Now you open the hood and it is like a block of plastic covering every inch that you need special tools for just to get to s~~~ in there.

Everything is going backwards, and it is all done ON F~~~ING PURPOSE. Gotta keep the plebs distracted as you rob them blind. The standard of living for the average American is in a constant state of decline…

I’m with the guys that prefer the 70’s and 80’s as well. The music was far better. The girls were in much better physical shape. The ever present PC culture, misery, and hatred that we see today, simply wasn’t around back then.

Sure, we didn’t have the technology of today. While I have a few hundred “friends” on Facef~~~, I can’t remember the last time I had a beer with one of them. It seems like I would rather spend my time isolated in my room on my iPad or XBox One with my virtual friends than go out and hang with real friends. I don’t believe this is progress for mankind.

It sure was a lot easier to find girls willing to f~~~ back then. Now it seems that we have to jump through all kinds of hoops and have a fat wallet before we even get a bitch to even look up from her phone! Hell, I didn’t even have a clue about feminism back then. It existed, I’m sure. It just wasn’t EVERYWHERE.

Millennials, enjoy your smartphones, Facef~~~, and landwhales! I’m not at all envious.

In the 80’s we had vacuum cleaners and gold diggers.

Also, in 1983, AIDs was discovered.

    I like the 70’s but turned 20 in 1980.

1982, New Wave, saw Flock of Seagulls at a small venue in NYC.

Yea, that part did suck. I dig the 70’s too, my favorite music is from the 70’s… Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, UFO, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Def Leppard, ACDC… But the 70’s had a darker feel to it, oil crisis, Vietnam, s~~~ air quality… The 80’s had more of a relaxed party feel where everyone seemed to get along.

80’s were the last decade where being a guy was “cool”. Shows like Knight Rider and Miami Vice made guys “cool”. Manly men, doing manly things. Riding around in cool cars, being poontang magnets, having charisma, being tough.

Nowadays, guys like Justin Bieber are considered “cool” by society, and by women. Justin Bieber is a f~~. A flaming, raging, metrosexual f~~. He would have been laughed at in the 80’s. Burt Reynolds and Sean Connery would have taken a massive s~~~ on Justin Bieber and the rest of the clowns in the mainstream today.
