Hey guys, I’m 18, 5’8 and 118 pounds. Im training to make my university soccer team, I’m already pretty fast already, but ive watched their training sessions, and from what I really need is to become more explosive. Does anyone have any workouts in mind to seriously increase explosivness. I’m also gonna train starting on the 18th of April since on that day I will be done my exams.

@joetech haha yea my favourite is Rocky III with Mr.T and actually tomorrow morning I plan to wake up early and going for a 3k run around my neighbourhood.
Soccer? Isn’t that the football 1/2 that the Europeans play? Sort of a playground “kick-ball”?
I realize your size may preclude you from playing real football, but there are other normal sports like baseball, or hockey for instance.

When fighters train with wieghts the do the reps as fast as possable to develope fast twitch muscel fiber.
Isolate individual moves and practice explodeing out of the box.I work with a world champion greco wrestler. In 2012 he took world beating a Russian in the 40 yr old division.
I asked him and he recommends and used this.This is the classic movement that The World’s Strongest Man made famous. The flip is a tremendous movement for people who need explosive power. This is one of the best exercises for athletes such as football linemen, wrestlers, and others who need to exert force quickly to move heavy opponents.

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.
you need to do compound movements to increase general strength such as squat, bench press, and dead lift. squatting is especially important.
and you need to combine this general strength training with movements such as power cleans and other olympic weightlifting variations. doing sprinting drills and plyometrics will help too.
explosive resistance movements such as power clean along with different body weight exercises like plyometrics will hone the increase of general strength you acquire from squats etc into explosive power.
