I recently got out of a typical totally f~~~ed up relationship about 3 months ago. I am forced into bankruptcy, it will be done Jan. 20th

I found I will have in a year and 3 months access to $18,000 In retirement from a savings account that I wasn’t aware of that I found out about from the bankruptcy. That’s separate from my core retirement account. Now that I have no bills and a few things to sell I will have about $38,000 to invest in what I love and build a recording studio. All paid for in cash.

I read that you can make anywhere from $20 an hour to $100 an hour if you have a finely tuned acoustic room.

I currently make just under $19 an hour as a nursing assistant in a pack of harridans being the only male.

At this moment here’s what I’m thinking for my gear list.

I play keyboards. I’m a fairly s~~~ty keyboard player with Steve Martin / the Jerk timing… Thank God for quantizing, but I am great at melodies.

It’s the perfect storm. Everything I need to know is on YouTube and in books.

I am stoked and determined. I will spend the next year watching as many videos as I can about the art of recording and mixing and work on losing weight and gaining my health back.

I will fine tune this over at gearslutz. I can start my own record label with this gear.

I heard from another nac who declared bankruptcy a few years ago about a program that lets you buy a $150,000 house with nothing down as long as your credit score is 620. You have to take an 8 hour class. I want out of this apartment. She is bringing me info.

Great plan! Just make sure your sound absorbing material isn’t extremely flammable like the Road Island nightclub tragedy, just thought I’d mention it.

Making a recording studio for anyone within a few hundred miles that wants to make a soundtrack is a service that will likely get used. But if they had a place to bunk or a hotel nearby is something to consider for customers willing to fly in.

Follow your dreams and make them come true! If you do that, your reality will be a living dream come true! It works for me!

Working with all women is not working for me. The stress is ruining my health. I want to gain some years back.

It’s prime acoustics and real trap stuff, I’ll check on that.

I’ve followed James Lugo at gearslutz from his meager little recording studio to a full fledged facility with an SSL desk. He’s podcast about it from the beginning. So I know it’s possible. I won’t have any overhead outside electricity and repairs.

Check with an accountant. The government may take 45% of that 18K, if you cash it in before retirement.

I remember seeing that on the news when it happened. That was pretty stupid to be shooting fireworks into the ceiling and thinking nothing bad would happen though.

And don’t end up like these guys either.
