The U.S Constitution doesn’t provide a right to bear hammers. Get the context right for what the second amendment says and means, and then maybe this can be discussed. Equating a tool that can be used to build thing, with a tool that is designed just to kill, and then calling for a ban of the tool used to build because it was used as a weapon, is false equivocation. One can go the other way to, and say that people shouldn’t be banned from having their own personal nukes, because a terrorist detonated one. In the hands of a responsible nuke owner, they can do real good with a nuke, so there shouldn’t be any restrictions to having a personal nuke.

Heck, why even ban anthrax either? Why even restrict militant Muslims from having weapons of mass destruction? The Unabomber had ever personal right to whatever weapon he wanted, because the U.S Constitution says that, right?

The way I see the Constitution reads, the citizens have a right to every single weapon they can have to collectively defend themselves against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Where does the Constitution say they can’t, if the effort is part of a well regulated militia? But, keep saying the right is meant to be primarily for personal use, and go ahead and then try to say that nothing should be done so the environment has its own form of regulating itself.
