There is a proper name for unmarried women and it’s f~~~ing spinsters. Why do they refer to them as Bachelorettes?

I think it’s because being a bachelor is not seen as a bad thing. When you think of the way that media often portrays bachelors as being free from the clutches of women.

It don’t quite hang the same way for women though.
So they adopt Bachelor and feminise the word so to adopt all the beneficial connotations that come with being unmarried.

But let’s be honest it’s a charade. They are spinsters. Why the f~~~ can’t they call themselves what they are?

Spinster for me conjures up an image straight out of the Victorian era. Woman with a few extra pounds hidden under a huge dress and shawl. Sitting by fire knitting.

While bachelor evokes a different image. A free man. Out there living.

The spinster – waiting for someone to marry her.

Keep on waiting. Us Bachelors are living.

Spinster. Why can’t they Say it like it is for once instead of what they wish it to be.
