In the age of smartphones with immediate internet access, those at Marvel Studios should know better than to believe one can show such a trailer to a crowd and the trailer will not be leaked to the internet. In response to the leak Marvel Studios is trying to censor the leak instead of admit they made a mistake and go with it by releasing an official version of the trailer on the internet.

All tied into the prearranged “trailer release” event scheduled with all the usual hoopla, crud and crap. Money, Money, Money, … the industry is trying to make it anyway they can as the big budget CGI movies are feast or famine at the box office.

It is much easier for them to cry fowl than to serve their fan base.

You would think. But, the industry, like the rest of the corporate owned franchises have become less about money and more about pushing unpopular ideologies.

Use to when these companies lose money said company realized something was wrong with their product and advertising approach.

Now, if a company loses money the company in question believes something is wrong with the customer base.

Most of those movies that bombed at the box office had problems with how they handed their fanbase.

Look at movies that did well the box office. Such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. The production crew and advertising crew of that movie did not insult the fanbase and instead they complimented their fanbase with a witty advertising campaign and a movie that was very well made in several ways.

This problem is seen in other industries such as TV shows.

The last decade we have seen several popular TV shows canceled not because they were doing badly in the rating. Quite the reverse. The TV shows were doing well in the rating, but in the demographics the advertisers did not want, which is currently the SJW crowd.

Yes folks. We are now in an age if you do not belong to the SJW crowd, watching a TV show may INCREASE the chances of that TV show being canceled.

I found this illogical approach in running an industry to be psychotic and self-defeating.

It is much easier for them to cry fowl than to serve their fan base.

How? These take down notices require paying legal fees, while setting up a video on the internet would likely be fair cheaper from a monetary standpoint.

Crying foul generates more news coverage.

Releasing the trailer on-line would have only generated “buzz” among the fan base.

Releasing the trailer in theaters – where only a low grade moron wouldn’t believe someone with a smartphone wouldn’t record and share it – and then raising a hullabaloo about the trailer being “stolen” brings the movie to the attention of people outside the fan base, people like me who haven’t been to the movies since Lincoln.

While I wouldn’t go see any so-called “capesh*t” movie, now even I know that yet another superhero film will be released soon.

I think I side with Marvel on this. There’s no doubt that they are expected to reveal a trailer for the movie, and the media and fans would be disappointed without it. Marvel has done this before as well without issues.

And yes, it gets leaked to the internet, but I wouldn’t surprised if they don’t find the culprit. If it’s a member of media, they won’t be allowed in these things again.

And it’s not as if this is really that bad of an outcome for Marvel. Infinity War is all over the news today, probably more so then if they outright released the video. It’s getting more news than Justice League. And they’ll be able to do it again with similar hype when they need it.

    Ok. Then do it.
