If I’m to progress in my self-sufficiency journey, I’m going to need a good scan tool. I figure there’s got to be some technicians here at the mgtow forums who know what’s good and what is not.

I have a 2006, so I don’t need the latest and greatest thing (don’t want to spend $1000+). I would like to have the ability to read/reset airbag light codes, in addition to the CEL codes.

I’ve heard Autel is a good brand, just don’t know which model to get… and I like hearing the opinions of others.

    Thanks all.

If you have an Android phone, I would recommend getting on OBD2 “dongle” device. Search Google or Amazon for them. It plugs in to the OBD2 port on your vehicle and reads/resets codes via an app. I paid about $30 for the dongle and the app was about $10.

Most of these will NOT work with iPhones.

About the time you needed one of those things is when my desire to work on cars stopped.

I was actually researching this and considering it, I just wasn’t sure if these apps were “potent” enough, to reset things other than CEL’s. Thanks for the info.

Finger on the spark plug wire to see if it has any spark.

It’s crude, but it works! And no batteries needed!

Lol! I’ve done this before by accident. It had spark.

Da F~~~ Bro, it worked for me.

I was blown right across the yard when I was 16 and touched the live spark wire to make sure it was secure.

    F~~~ that hurt.
