I’m starting to do some audio recordings for my vlog project and would love some advice on how to get a good sound. I’m basically doing voice-over/commentary type stuff. I have Adobe CC, so I’m using Audition.
The Children of Doom... Doom's Children. They told my lord the way to the Mountain of Power. They told him to throw down his sword and return to the Earth... Ha! Time enough for the Earth in the grave.I have a Blue Yeti with a pop filter, on a boom arm with a shock mount.

Time enough for the Earth in the grave.Get a good microphone from one of those sound/guitar shops. I looked for one with a friend, and a good one was around $300 or more. If you don’t, you will get some degree of echo, or a hollow sound. Software can bass boost or do a little tweaking, but you want as pure a voice recording as you can get from the start. A good mic will filter out ambient things you wouldn’t notice like your fridge… or a wall clock… hissing … a car diving by etc.

Well there you go, so it sounds like you’re all set. I thought you were implying you were a novice.
If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.I have everything set up in my bedroom so it’s pretty noise tight.

I am not in fact I happen to be a full on pro when it comes to that…
Do feel free to PM me whenever you like, dude. I can most certainly help out.
Just this much advice for the time being: If you’re using a program for editing, which can visualize all the sound waves (as most programs do these days) and if you can zoom right in visually (as audition should be able to do reasonably well from what I’ve heard; never used it though since I got my own preferences), make sure that you never combine cuts spliced together where the top of any sound wave on the end of one clip would hit / be “glued” to another sound clip beginning with a sound wave with a valley or vice versa, because either way that would produce nasty audible “clicks” which you don’t want.
Also whenever trying to shorten excessively long speaking pauses of your voice try not to cut right into your natural breathing noise, but try to either keep that natural breathing in there fully or try to cut it out completely. Everything else would sound very unnatural after editing…
I'd rather die a natual death with a clear MGTOW conscience somewhere off the grid than one within "modern" civilisation with a big stress mark on my forehead and a couple of dozen tubes plugged into my body. Back to the plantation..? Me..? Hey, literally: I won't ever fucking kid myself...YZERLMNTSIC

I see. Well. I don’t know what platform you use, but I still use “sound studio” for most jobs. “Soundtrack” (mac) for anything, say , over 5-10 minutes. Logic Pro is the best, because I can take a voice track and make it sound like Darth Vader. After Effects for things like 30/60/90 second movietrailers.

I mentioned it in the opener. I have Adobe Creative Cloud so I use Audition.

Much appreciated. I’ll be in touch!

Hey Chaos, I just received your message but unfortunately I currently can’t respond/send a message back even though I can still help you out, so be patient my friend …
