    Afternoon to you sirs,

I was in the break-room at work today when 3 of my co-workers came in; all young women (between 20-27). One showed the other 2 a book on astrology she has been reading on her kindle, and they began discussing it.

More specifically, the topic was of astrological signs (zodiac signs) and how certain types will attract/be attracted to other signs. One such combination they mentioned was Leo and Taurus.

I have never delved into astrology; hell I couldn’t even remember what my zodiac sign was until I looked it up. While the description did in fact describe me to some extent, it was so vague that it would describe countless others. Upon looking at other signs they also described me in many ways.

My point is simply why would anyone put any weight into this stuff? Though honestly I already know the answer and thus I suppose I am just curious of some of your opinions.

It is unsurprising that women would want to believe such stories, as it gives something of a romantic-destiny explanation to their otherwise dull run-of-the-mill relationships.

I would certainly agree that certain personalities are prone to attract other personalities, but the idea that one’s personality is affected by the time of the year they were born in is ludicrous to me.

    Women actually believe that s~~~.
It’s amazing how many openly admit it but most have learned to lie about believing it.
I knew a guy who created a business doing this. You should have seen the fun he had making that s~~~ up. Women didn’t bat an eyelid lapping it up.

This is why it’s so easy for hateful, bitter 30/40 yr old women to indoctrinate young women into feminism.
The three pillars of feminism: The Patriarchy, The Wage Gap and Rape Culture are all just as valid as any daily horoscope in any newspaper.
Just have a look at our most recent feminazi troller desperately trying to create the reality of rape culture by twisting and manipulating obscure bizarre sources.
Despite the reaction she got here, and the abyss of evidence everywhere else, she’ll go on believing it.
The only rape culture there is, is in the minds of the countless millions of women who loved 50 Shades of Grey and the sick frustrated bitch who wrote it.

Because females enjoy mystical thinking. They’re incapable of understanding causality so they turn to dreams, wishes and the magic of the spheres (i.e. bulls~~~ made up by men in ancient times to get laid) to help them make sense of the world.

Don’t waste your time trying to disavow them of these beliefs, rather use them to your advantage. Just like the salesman who looks up the local sports scores before going into a meeting, have a casual glance at the horoscope before talking to a woman and then use the bulls~~~ she wants to hear to get whatever it is you want from her.

I think the astrologer’s attire says everything about himself and his views.

The Amazing Randi is a master debunker. Highly entertaining. He did a great job debunking Uri Geller’s spoon bending.

I still remember from my online dating forays, a woman had ‘astrology sign ### need not apply’.

And they say we are supposed to have evolved.

A professor in my undergrad worked for a newspaper in his college days. He said that he started his job as the guy who ‘writes’ astrology stuff.

What he used to do was get drunk and randomly assort pre-made sentences from a pool and assign them haphazardly to whatever sign he fancied.

He chuckled telling his class this – ‘I still received 20 emails a day from readers thanking me for accurately describing their sign’.

I bet there are women out there who read all astrology signs and pretend they are whatever sign that makes them feel better.

Like a single mother who still considers herself to be a catch. Deelooseanal.
