I think we need to bring back part of history. In the past, only white landowners could vote. I don’t want other people banned from voting because of the color of their skin, but I think the only people who should be voting are land owners. They’re the only ones with skin in the game, and it ensures that only intelligent people can actually vote. Of course being a citizen should be required too, but that’s a given. If you’re a citizen and you own land/property, you can vote. No more illegals and deadbeats that live off of government assistance voting! They will vote to DESTROY the republic and give themselves FREE S~~~ at the expense of everyone else. Society will collapse if we let this go on.

I think that’s the right idea, but should be modernized a bit. At that time, there were no federal income taxes, and I believe (could be wrong) taxes were correct based on land ownership. In essence, those that contributed financially to the republic were the ones who had a say in the government.

I don’t think that really works anyway, as land ownership doesn’t mean what it used to mean, and banks and corporations own the vast majority of land. You can’t define those that contribute to the government based on land ownership. However, there are other ways you can measure who contributes and who doesn’t. Income tax is one. If you pay positive income tax (ie not on welfare, receiving subsidies, health care etc), then you should have the right to vote. If you’re on the dole of the government, you don’t. That appears as though it’s disenfranchising the poor, but all you have to be is net positive. One cent earns you a vote, same as a rich man. And this prevents politicians from give away freebees in order to buy votes.

Another alternative would be that the right to vote in earned through military service, or some sort of civic service. The idea being that you must have some sort of real incite into governing and reality of service before they can vote, make decisions on governing.

Merit based voting.
