Now that I have graduated, have a job, and my sister got married my mother and every other woman in my life seems to want to arrange me getting together with some random girl or girls I used to know. Most of these girls wouldn’t have given me the time of day before and most of them don’t even have anything to put on the table. The latest offer came from one of my mom’s friends. She arrived at our house early while I was cooking for a party my mother was throwing. I got a load of, “I am so proud of you having a job now” and “you really are moving on in the world” (this lady was hounding me for being unemployed ever since I got out of college; the job market was rough and I was seriously questioning why I even went to college). Next, she’s trying to set me up with her granddaughter who is studying abroad in Spain, is pursuing a medical degree, and has apparently never cooked in her life (sounds like some girl who was handed all sorts of programs and privileges in academia and was so stuck up and pampered she never prepared her own meals). It seems that’s all I hear now days is, “Oh, you can cook?! Women just loooove a man who can cook.” So basically, I am expected to work an 8-5 job, make a s~~~ ton of money, find the time to work out in that day to stay fit and decent looking, and still be expected to come home, cook dinner, and clean up everything afterward? If I can do all of this by myself already, why should I get together with someone who can’t? Anyone else dealing with this s~~~? Anyone else notice how women today act like you should be the homemaker and yet also be the bread winner? Anyone else dealing with other women trying to push their bulls~~~ progeny or prospects on you now that you have “made your bones” so to say?

I have been practicing my own version of arranged dating. I don’t arrange any and politely have something better or more urgent to do when someone else does try to arrange one. It isn’t even lying, which I don’t like to do, owning houses and cars takes a lot of maintenance time. Heck, I need to take a day and just restring my basses and other stringed instruments. That is important. Hanging around in just about any social scene isn’t. It is a fact that if I don’t make time to play piano or cello, those skills will not develop, and while I will never play them with the facility I can a bass, I want to play them as well as I am able. And it’s fun. Watching pretty people behave as they do has never been fun for me, libraries over bars every time and I am a musician….haha..guess which band member always chose museums as activities? No one likes giving me radio time in the vehicle or my choices on daily activities in strange places…but everyone loves my turn in the kitchen. An actual quote from a hungover freshly awakened drummer..”Oh God, classical music and education day again?”…right back to bed with that one. Give me a pass to the MFA.

Get used to saying it, it took me 7-8 years for my mom and sisters to stop bringing it up.

I was at my niece’s birthday party recently, and my sister’s sister-in-law asked when I was going to have kids, I said “No” and walked away. I shut down her female hypergamy bulls~~~ at the pass.

Yeah I get the same s~~~ all the time as well. I get it from friends and family members who know I make decent money, and I’ve even been getting it from some old lady neighbors lately as they see me off at work all the time crushing the overtime.

My plan…just do what I’m doing for another 5-10 years and retire super early. Their plan for me…have me marry a post wall whore and pop a few kids out and whether I stay miserably married or divorce is irrelevant because I’ve already done my service for the matriarchy and I’ll be financially enslaved for life. At the very core of it…I’m not devoting myself to a woman for my prime SMV years if she couldn’t devote her prime SMV years to me…especially when I know the divorce option for them is a cash out option plus a free ticket to hop back on the c~~~ carousel while its nothing but a financial raping for me.

At 54, I can attest to the truth of that. However, new people I meet all seem to want an explanation as to why I’m not actively searching for the next x-Mrs. Hominid. And Eek’s reply is the best one to shut the conversation down — “No.”

The more you explain why “no,” the more they pester you. So a simple “no” is the best reply. Then change the subject.

I never really had a lot of push from family to find a girl except from my grandma who as old school Italian so that was just her way. I do have to say that most women I encounter can not even boil water let alone cook anything edible.

I do have a girlfriend who can’t cook to save her life but we do have a an agreement, I do all the cooking she does all the cleaning… and so far it works out well as I hate cleaning lol.
