I don’t think these ratings really mean much anymore, unless they occur right around an election. The liberals are not going to adjust their views and talking points based on opinion polls. They’ll just conclude they need to speak louder. And the media will do the same. They’ll give more airtime to democrats and find new stores to distract the mass, so SOTU is quickly forgotten. I think this partially why the Virginia story is breaking, and dems decided to post the Green New Deal garbage. It’s not good news, but it changes the focus. Gets people to stop talking about facts and go back to emotional thinking.

Compare that to ANY of the Democrats. He’ll more than likely reach a deal with China and could kick the funding can down the road for another three weeks so a shutdown comes right before food stamp payments.

Given how much further left the Democrats have moved in the last couple years I don’t see them bringing over any of the people who voted Trump to their side, where as more centrist democrats might vote against their own party, or throw their vote away on a third party candidate.
