I just went on an interview for a VGM attendant position and they offered it to me. Going through the process of filling out the large back ground check packet and will be taking a drug test Saturday.

It’s only part time but the company seems like they have plenty of options for moving up or even transferring to another position once there for a while. Not sure how the work environment will be, so I wanted to ask if anyone on here has known anyone or works themselves in a casino environment.

I’m ultra paranoid of getting doxed (even on a mgtow site, I know lol) since you just never know any more (actually had a bad experience, which I’ll probably share on here soon about that) so I don’t know how more detail I can go into.

Right now I do freelance work and haven’t been in a “corporate” environment in forever. As far as they know I’m a feminist who will keep his nose to the ground and not try and attract any unwanted attention. I hope it’s a job where I can just focus on the task at hand, get in and get out.

I’d ideally love to transition into more A/V work (which I do for freelance) but this seems like a good way to at least get my foot in the door.

Any feed back on working in that type of environment would be much appreciated.

Gambling is a lot like marriage. It’s a rigged system.

You might get lucky once or twice, but the more you play, the more you lose.

MGTOW is not a movement, it is a way of life.

Yep. Exactly. I learned a valuable lesson with social media that lost me the opportunity of getting a salary paid job with the city. (Was gonna write this up in it’s own post but f~~~ it, I’ll do it right here) Their vetting process literally has to be illegal to the way they try and comb through EVERYTHING about you.
I didn’t mind it, but when they couldn’t get me on anything “criminal” they basically went after my social media s~~~. I’d written a post on Tumblr about a year ago expressing my frustration about a ticket I got in front of my house for double parking. I titled it something like “f~~~ the police.” They also showed me old ass pics of pictures I’d taken of something that looked like blunts. Just a picture of cigar looking blunts.

The reason why they decided to dig so deep into my social media history was because a month prior to this interview a child hood friend thought it would be funny to report me via an anonymous hotline, saying that he thought I was harboring radical extremism, and that I sounded suicidal. All because of my pro trump posts on facebook which he disagreed with. I had no idea at the time what he had done, but I was visited by Police, and then the FBI. They both said that I had nothing to worry about (but how often do they lie).

But in order to remain transparent I had to tell my investigator for this job. Which is the only reason I can think why they’d go nuts and dig back this far into my social media history. I was also uploading a podcast at the time on youtube and they even took snippets from it displaying their disappointment at my behavior on there. Since I’d made the podcast “public” I guess they thought they could use it as a critique to how I’d perform at this job.

Even though I assured them this had nothing to do with me not being able to perform to the best of my ability at the job I was applying for, they didn’t seem to buy it.

I’m still awaiting the letter in the mail of them trying to disqualify me for the position and will have 30 days upon receiving it to appeal it (since it’s a city job they have to do this by law).

The amount bureaucratic red tape I went through to try and get this job, over a year of interviews and paperwork, and then they try and base it all off my “social media.” My record is squeaky clean. But I just don’t know anyone in my area who can help. I’ll probably have to hire a lawyer.
I don’t even want the job anymore. I just need to clear my f~~~ing name. Not really sure if I’m on some potential terrorist list because of what this kid did by trying to report me to an anonomous terrorist hotline. This just happened recently. Is this even legal for them to get away with?

I asked the “Legal Advice” sub reddit and they basically laughed at me saying that I couldn’t do anything about it. I wanted to sue my friend for damages (like not getting this job) but I wasn’t technically charged for anything and it’s only his word against mine. Even though the police saw that I wasn’t a threat (no s~~~) they still have it written down somewhere that I was reported. I’m sure they can say that this had nothing to do with why I was passed up for getting hired.

Prior to this happening I was literally 99% sure they were going to hire me. Now it seems they’ve “lost” all my paperwork out of the blue. From how I’m writing this out, is it obvious I’m still pretty p~~~ed about it?

The one thing about the Casino environment is that there is surveillance EVERYWHERE. Back of house, front of house, outside most cams record both audio and video. If there is any incident at all, security will be called over, they will make a report of both sides of the story and then they will have surveillance pull the recordings and review them to see what actually happened .

So if you’re doing your job, treating everyone with equal respect since it’s a customer service oriented business, then you should be fine.

And yes, I have many years experience in Casinos.

Yeah, this will be a very robotic job where only a lazy ass will do horrible at it. I def thought that as well in terms of security acting fast, but yes, Plenty of cameras so no issues there 😉
