That is one mean looking dude!

Note to army generals: Do not shoot cannonb~~~~ at giant steel robots. Nothing good will come of it.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

I love mechs. I am a long time giant robot fan. All the way back to the original Transformers Generation 1 series.

For those MGTOW that are giant robot fans, I highly recommend tracking down the Megas XLR animated series. The series is 26 episodes. The series is very funny. The series parodies every cool thing that came before it. The main pilot for Megas, Coop, is practically a nice MGTOW. All Coop thinks about are games, cars, and food.

The other two main characters are the redhead action girl, Kiva. And blue pill lovable coward, Jamie.

Can you give the link about the original game? Wiki or something?

THE board game of armored combat! And yes I was very good at this game, but most folks didn’t have the patience to play it, or the key to mastering it.

As a board game the best part about it is you sit around a table in FACE TO FACE contact with your friends…no electronic gizmos, just paper, pencil, maps, miniatures and your best friends having a blast.

The board game. We could only read about that when we were teens. No one seen it because it was almost impossible to purchase it over here to Russia. After twenty years, finally, I can see what it was looked like! lol

Its awesome ESPECIALLY when you learn how to design and use your own mechs. So you get to experiment with different sizes, speeds, weights, weapon packages. I actually enjoy the design your own feature more than playing.

Cool stuff. It made me want to read the novels of either Keith or Thurston again (the only novels I really like). Unfortunately FASA is no longer exists, so we won’t see a proper screening version of those epic events like the battle of Tukayyid.

PS Looks like someone has remastered MW 2 intro.

OK I can see the lure of the video game–I used to really like pilot oriented games. The board game is a little different—its much more a a tactical over-view, and there is little of the instant destruction—no destruction of the enemy is a long grinding thing that shifts back and forth. Many a game ended with my mech down two one weapon, armor gone, engines overheating and crawling to the enemy because a leg was shot off.

Haha! It’s sooo familiar to me! I plyed MechWarrior (1989). There was a real spirit of mercenary. IMHO the best MW game ever made.
That’s pity we couldn’t play the board game version, it would be even more exaiting.

That is what drew me to play the Mechwarrior Mercenary video game. Ironically, I found the funnest custom mech to play on that video game was the fastest one with just a weak weapon loadout and set to go as fast as possible.

I had piloted the Locust. It’s armed only with M-Laser and two MG. There were two Marauders appeared in front of me. Well, two legs off, two mechs down! In the old MW, a mech falls down if one leg is damaged. The third one, the Warhammer, almost made a pile of crap out of me with its PPCs while me was running by. But I was succeeded to rush through it to their base.
