As some of you may know, from my introduction, that in a few years I plan on getting my own place. However, I don’t know of any ways of staying connected to the internet other than satellite and cellular.
I wouldn’t mind going that route, however, I don’t want to be charged for going over my data plans. Are there any other options out there besides these?
I thought some cellular companies carry unlimited data plans? That would be the route I would go,check T-Mobile I believe they advertise unlimited data or check a company that piggybacks off the cell towers of the big carriers like cricket,H2O,etc and see if they offer unlimited with no throttle down cap.
Never lose sight of what brought you here.
Also google has a cellular business called “project Fi” where you pay for what you use. I believe its like 10 bucks per gig after 40gigs or something like that,so check out their website to get more info.

Thanks, I’ll look into those as well.
Ok, I have a background in the automotive industry, and I’ve installed my fair share of custom equipment in camper vans/RV’s.
You have a few options for getting internet in your R.V., but they depend on what equipment is installed in the vehicle. I would recommend that your inverter or generator be at least 1200w.
1. You can have a satellite installed that will allow you to receive broadband internet. Think companies like Hughes net, etc. The satellite can then be attached to a wifi hotspot to allot you to work wirelessly.
2. You can do as the previous poster noted and simply get an unlimited data plan from your cell company. Then, you can buy a “Mobile WiFi Hotspot” which is simply a plug in box with a cell antenna. It will broadcast a wifi signal that it converts from the 4g signal that your phone normally uses.
Honestly, satellite internet is either cheap, or fast. I don’t know what issues you would have with keeping a dish on the top of your R.V. clean and clear. But it’s always an option. The unlimited data suggestion is probably by far the better option.
I currently live in my old beat-up rv.
However, I am also “parked” at an rv park, til I can accomplish my next goal. So, for me anyway, I was able to go through TWC for my internet/cable, just like if I had a physical house.
The cable runs in from the park hookups. No data limit, etc.
If, this is going to be your setup, it is an option as well.
I finally found a solution for this.
Currently, I’m on the Cricket network and I have an Android phone. What I plan on doing is getting a bluetooth keyboard and mouse for internet use in my RV. If I need to do anything else, I’ll end up going to the local library or cafe and use their internet with my laptop.
