Particularly for computers. I used to be obsessed with WOW but they dumbed that game down to much over the years. I Gave it up in 2014 for good and while I’ve missed it it just isn’t the same.

I actually kinda like starcraft II, but only 3 races got a bit boring after a while.

LOL is another fun one I might consider downloading right now in fact. I was wondering if their were other games that required strategy like these example that aren’t to boring. I like sophistication but I dislike games where you have to take turns attacking for an example.

    strategy

Check Paradox interactive, maybe start with EU4. There are guys that are happily throwing lifetymes away on this so be careful, lol, this is like a crack for strategic mind.

If you like WoW. It has been a few years, but Star Wars The Old Republic and Wildstar are okay games. I am not sure how the games are doing though.

Star Wars The Old Republic can be played like eight separate RPG stories. It is a good game with interesting classes and zones. If you liked Bioware’s Knights of the Old Republic, you will at least like the end of the original game. I did not care for the first expansion zone of the game and I stopped playing once I did the eight main class storylines.

Wildstar has a classic MMO fantasy races with a sci-fi feel. The Chua are cute like killer rabbits crossed with mad scientists. Wildstar has a some interesting game mechanics and jumping abilities. The zones are well thought out but the end game zones were fairly dark.

You can give Stellaris a shot, plenty of micromanaging going on in that game.

If I may stray from the strategy genre, Mass Effect Andromeda is coming out on the 21st (North America) or 23rd (Europe) of March. As a massive fan of the first trilogy, I can’t wait to play it!

dark souls 3 is good (you will need a controller though on PC)

it is sophisticated as you need to understand the whole system of how stats and equipment load etc work. And the game will trap you and kill you in an instant if you’re not careful. (a guy called fightingcowboy does a good youtude video walkthrough)

Skyrim is worth playing too. an open world but not online multiplayer

Advice: Chunk the video games–get 4-5 friends together around a table and play some old style AD&D. You’ll have much more fun than any video game.

If you like Starcraft, and you’re not a fan of turn-based games, I’d recommend Age of Empires II: The Conqueror’s Expansion. I used to play Age of Empires I, but when the second one came out I switched over completely because it was superior in every way. Age of Empires III is not even worth trying.

AoE II is by no means a new game, but it’s not that old either, and it’s aged very well. Many people still play it on Voobly and Steam (on Steam, I’m one of the top ranked players in the world).

I play world of tanks online but Civ 3 is my addiction.

Tried Civ4 but too many details wrecked game play.
