Warner Bros. is making an all-female adaption of Lord of the Flies. Feminists are upset because “Lord of the Flies is supposed to be about toxic masculinity. Replacing the cast with girls would make no sense.”

This is how “equality” works in Hollywood. Lord of the Flies is a book about how sick and twisted human beings can be … and feminists don’t want to put girls in that movie.

Hollywood says that women can be Ghostbusters too. Feminists are happy.

Ohh gawwd.

The “inspirational” book by William Golding, an ex teacher. I remember this book well as it was essential reading before my GCSE’s. The meaning of the book was drummed into us by a well meaning and enthusiastic teacher, however I must admit I thought it was tedious as hell. Long days listening to the misfortunes of “Piggy” and the rambunctious Jack added little to my view that I completely hated the book and that I had little in common with the characters in it.

In my eyes, the book was a product of its time, directed at a public school upper middle class environment, where boys wear blazers and school ties, and whose abode is firmly in the Home counties. Circa 1954.

That being said, although the book was a product of its time, it served to convey a stern message about the nature of man. I am sure Golding or his adherents, would be amused by turning such serious work into the equivalent of “celebrity lesbian love island.”

This film should be left alone.
