Alaskan Glaciers

Buddy and his wife went on an Alaskan trip recently and when he got back they had a barbecue. His wife is a rabid environmentalist. I’m a realist. As long as the conversation is light there are no problems. I just stick with the guys and talk tech or fishing.
My buddy was talking about how awesome the fishing is in Alaska and assuredly exaggerating all of his catches. If you fish, the taller the tale the better. His wife and her gaggle of hens interject with a comment on the awful melting glaciers. (Climate change is after all “settled science”. #Bulls~~~)

Her: We were at the Muir Glacier and it was awful how far it had melted.
Me: You know that’s what they do.
Her: What?
Me: Glaciers. They melt.
Her: Well yes they are melting because humans have raised the world temperature.
Me: That glacier has been melting like most glaciers since the 1870’s because the earth is just coming out of the “mini-ice age”
Her: Whatever “climate denier”.

At that point I just turned back to the conversation with the guys. No point in discussing because as a woman, no man can tell her facts to change her mind.

This is the reality… So many people just believing whatever regurgitated crap pushed by scientists on the payroll of media and government.

A rational decision requires looking at the big picture. People who cry out about global warming are not looking at the incomprehensible benefit fossil fuels provide to mankind. Who cares if the earth gets a little warmer? Thanks to fossil fuels, our well-being is less dependent than ever on the vicissitudes of the climate.

My buddy got back from Alaska recently and walked up to the base of a glacier that had been melting… There were markers for where it used to be by year. He said that there was no speeding up of the melting after the beginning of the industrial age.

Explaining that the climate naturally changes by the f~~~ing minute is like beating a dead horse or explaining anything with facts to a feminist.

As a few examples.
The wind is from the southwest at 10km/hr then drops to 9.8km/hr? TADA… the climate changed

A nice sunny day with no clouds in the sky, then clouds roll in? TADA….the climate changed

Women and mangina’s cant figure out why men are walking away from relationships etc? TADA the climate changed – oops wrong climate

I have personally been in places (outside in the f~~~ing environment) where within seconds the weather has changed from extremely hot to a extremely cold, a light rainfall turned into torrential rains causing floods. (as just 2 examples)
In Calgary Ab. I had the distinct pleasure of experiencing a sunny day, a snow storm, and rain at the same intersection at the same time just on different corners of the intersection. The damn road was clear the whole time.. Believe it or not, this is NORMAL around here (the planet)

Let me put it this way.

Canada Geese fly south annually for the winter. Usually around late September early October. We call that time frame “the fall”.
August 2nd 2016 I started to see flocks begin their annual migration south. This is the MIDDLE of summer!!!!
If the climate were getting hotter, they’d be staying a tad longer not leaving earlier (unless the NDP/Liberals managed a way to tax the animals/birds too).
Early migration of animals that migrate is usually indicative of the climate getting colder, not hotter.
All our brothers north of the 45th Parallel should get ready for a “frosty” winter this year.
